No Rest for the Dead

My fellow players:

***

Rumors have reached Neverwinter of an ancient evil that has been unknowingly set free from the prison that held it. While many have scoffed at the rumors, some have travelled to the recently rediscovered cemetary, once forgotten for ages. None have returned. Now whatever has been set free threatens not only Neverwinter, but the entire region.

Gather your friends, or challenge the evil on your own. Journey to the Forgotten Cemetary, and stop whatever has been set free before it's too late. But pray to whichever of the gods you serve before you go. Where you're headed, there is No Rest for the Dead.

Suggested number of players: 2-3. Soloing is certainly possible, but bring potions. You'll need them.

This is my first attempt at building a Foundry quest. I would like to invite you to check it out, and give feedback with a review. Certainly I would love to hear what you like about it, but also I would like honest opinions on what you think could/should be improved for this and for future Foundry quests that I publish. It was quite a bit of work, but I enjoyed making it, and want to publish others. Thank you. I truly hope you enjoy it, and I look forward to hearing your feedback!

    Hello Varik75

First good job on your quest I enjoyed it. I like the challenge of the two brothers fight. The dialogue was excellent.

    Onto the feedback.

Below is a list of what I found during my play through.
    1. The stone arches in the cemetery are above the ground, I call these floaties. Time to bring them back to earth.
    2. You are missing a piece of the perimeter gate to the North Eastish. If this is intentional....good job.
    3. I would suggest renaming a few of the things in the quest. Ghost Cleric Human, Swirling Portal 01, the door after the dialogue with Jade and the last two doors, the ones you use the gems on.
    4. You have some Goto Next Map when you transition maps, I would rename those.

Lastly, and this is just suggestions. Add some decorations in your crypt. spider webs, dead adventurers, dried blood, rubble and debris. Also I would imagine crypts are dark and gloomy and dusty. Check out the effects button on the detail tab in the editor, interior fogs are in there, try them out. Also add some variety to the cemetery, it seems kind of empty scenery wise to me.

Well thats it from me. Keep up the good work friend.

Thanks for the feedback Irtoof! I had thought about the fog about day 2 of working on the quest, and by day 4 I had forgotten to stick it in... much appreciated! And thank you so much for really wandering the quest and helping to find those little bits and pieces - I will definitely get back in there once the Foundry comes back up and make the needed changes to spruce up the place... or rather, dirty it up a bit more ;) Thanks again!!!!

Thanks to the helpful suggestions of irtoof75, I am happy to announce that No Rest for the Dead has gotten an overhaul, and is now much more eye-appealing, with creepier effects and dimmed lighting... like a crypt should be, as irtoof75 pointed out. So while I may have added said things to vastly improve the quest's look and feel, all credit I give to irtoof75, for without those suggestions it would have been mediocre at best.

So again, my sincerest thanks for the suggestions, and I hope you all enjoy my first Foundry quest, No Rest for the Dead! I shall endeavor to put some screenshots up in the next day or two :)

Testing the search still does not come up if title or author is put in the search, possibly because it's still an infant and needs more of my fellow players to run and review it... but it will show with the code. I hope you enjoy it!

** Update ** Touched up a few minor last details, final version is done and published. If anyone would like to run through it and review it, I would really appreciate it! Would like to be able to get it available for the daily Foundry, so any assistance is greatly appreciated! If you have a Foundry you would like reviewed in return, please drop me a mail @varik75 with your Foundry code, and I'd be happy to help you out!

As stated, it is 2-3ppl recommended, but if you plan to give it a go solo... stock up on potions before you go in. Foundry rules only let me drop 1 respawn point in there. Thanks everyone, and I look forward to reading your reviews and running through your Foundry quests!
