Gear Score is Kind of a Joke.

So I have a GF that had a GS of 10.9k. He was a hybrid tank/DPS build. After the patch, since they made it possible to be an actual tank, I did a full respec to a tank build. My gear score dropped to 8.7k? What's up with that? I understand what they're trying to accomplish with the GS system, but it seems kind of broken, when I respec to a build that will be much more useful to a party than my former build, but because of my low GS and how much emphasis people put on it, it's now almost impossible to find a group. Not to mention, I don't even qualify for CN anymore.

    That is because GS counts all stat points, if feat adds X% of defense as power and you don't pick it you will miss that much GS.
    Its not new that GS is a joke, everyone says that.

    Gear score is literally your attack/healing stat added to your protection stat. Whatever GS you lost is due to you losing a lot of one of those 2 stats.

    I didn't know that. Thanks for the info. Kind of screws over the pure tank builds.

    I'd say it makes for a fake gear representation of DPS or hybrid builds.

    gear score means nothing anyway

    i could go full defense on my TR, have a gearscore of 14k but would hit like a wet noodle

    once you have the 8.3k for dungeons, use what helps your build and not what increases your gearscore

    That's the reason I don't stat for a specific stat but rather what gives me the highest overall gear score, when changing gear, I have the character sheet open and when I equip it see if it actually increases the gear score, if it does I keep the better gear. If the score is equal I see which one raises the Attack/Healing, if that's the same, then Protection score. If all those are equal then I go for individual stats.

    The reasoning for this is simple. Gear Score is not solely based upon your gear. Your feats can actually influence this as well. Optimizing my GWF's DPS actually requires me to drop over 600 points in GS.

    Just lie about your GS in chat. It was re.tarded putting gear score into the game anyways and then not calling it pay to win. now that the good exploits have been removed, and the ones introduce din the new content are removed then after those narrow windows unless you've hoarded or are willing to shell out over 100 bucks for enchant fusions and then enchant to gear success you will be screwed. Just lie about your GS most users of this software are re.tarded anyhow and if that doesn't float your boat best move period is to uninstall and troll the forums occasionally while laughing about how much more they mess the game up every patch

    And for an extra spanner in the works, potions or buffs which boost stats effect the gear score as well!

    I think once you get past 12k gs its a joke.

    im sitting right around 12.1k w/ best gear for my build.

    an if i put on timeless(**** gear, high teir) puts me around 16.5k
