{Seeking Help} What is a GWF's role?

So now that we all have our free respec tokens, I figure that my GWF needs some serious respecing. (I went down the Destroyer route but then started going for taking gear, so he's pretty much a mess right now.) But I'm not sure what I should be doing? What exactly is our role in groups? How should I be building my GWF? Is dps or tanking better? I'm just pretty confused right now with what I should be doing so any clarity on what different builds are good for/ what we're supposed to be doing would be great.

Sentinel = Off Tanking (get a tank gear the Titan set or Indomitable scapper set)
Destroyer = A little of both I guess. Just do the SLAM SPAM build to be safe.
