Virtuous cleric the worst paragon path...Get rid of AS too

I know that clerics aren't supposed to be dps monster but if PW even bothered to make such a paragon at least make it viable. PVP is a disaster for me :
-dps doesn't compare to any class (it's the worst dps of them all)
-heal sucks
-it's very squishy

Not to mention the feat and dps abillities..

Also I fell like the whole cleric was basically just AS ...What't the point of all these abilities if we'll just get the right stuff the kick the rest out...It would have been nice if I had choices..REAL choices..

The last virtuous power says I get a bonus attack dmg only if I CRIT HEAL !!! So I have to get healing abilities just to incease my puny dmg..leaving me with no more room for other control/dps abilities

Any thoughts, sugestions..?

    Reroll as a TR? ;)

Seriously, I don't think there are many people who think PvP as a DC is anything even close to fun, especially post-patch.

I'd mostly just run around spamming BotS on everything so you at least get some assists, and then spend the rest of your efforts keeping your team alive on point: you're going to die ANYWAY, so why try harder to fight the inevitable.

Disclaimer: PvP as a DC is terrible, and I am also terrible at PvP, so take my advice with a hefty pinch of salt. There are some good guides here for PvP tactics, if you look.

I dunno, I'm running a Virtuous cleric because I find it fun, and it's not so bad. Mostly PvE though, so no comment on PvP. I do think some DPS-related feats could use a slight boost, though - maybe not as much for damage as for time duration; I find that Cycle of Change stacks expire too quickly.

That said, I've never have had any issues accumulating those stacks. Clerics have a lot of crit gear, and you can get to fairly high crit chance; I've got over 30% crit at level 52 (so, one out of 3 hits almost). It also seems like the requirement applies to any heal-related effects not just direct-heal spells - including Repurpose Soul feat and such. Not sure if it procs off Astral Seal heals, but it might. Now that Astral Shield is HoT rather than Regen, it should proc off that as well.

P.S. I've seen some pretty well-played clerics in PVP, they're pretty few though. I don't know HOW they do it, but one DC can hold a point quite well, and god help you if you have two that coordinate.

I go full DPS in PvP. I'm still specced for Crit-Healing, but I do alright~ I rarely do well but I have fun, and if I have a good run I don't feel like I let the team down.

    Currently use:
    Brand of the Sun
    Sacred Flames

    Break the Will
    Daunting Light
    Prophecy of Doom

    Hallowed Ground
Hammer of Fate, if you have it (I decided not to get it, since I'd only PvP it)

Prophecies damaging effect does quite a lot, I critted it for 12k today (No Vorpals), however the "If the target dies" part doesn't seem to actually work, so I might change it out for Divine Light, which should be good now that it's not bugged, or maybe Forgemasters.

Considering swapping Daunting Light out for Chains as well, so that instead of DPS or Healing I just focus on being as annoying to the enemy team as possible~

I think 2-3K per hit with astral flame and 10-14K+ crit with a daunting light spell is pretty good for pvp, without sacrifising much healing spells
I'm always friendly and will be happy any of your inquires via pm!
However i'm not a part of PWE and can't handle any questions regarding your personal details or account.
Please respect the forum ToS and keep a nice manner towards your fellow adventurers!

The "if target dies" part does work, at least in PvE it does. However, it works only if the target dies during the first 5~7 secs of the debuff duration.

Divine Glow is decent as well - meh damage, but it debuffs, and also has an instant cast so much easier to aim.

Any class can be specced for dps. Some, though, just aren't really designed for it, like the cleric. I am specced pretty much full heal. I use Divine Glow (easier to aim, and debuffs, gives allies bonus dmg if I have the spare Divine Power).

That said, PvP is often a pain, since I get swarmed and spend most fights up in in the air, dazed, disabled, prone, and/or stunned, depending on which snare powers get stacked on me. Even with that, though, my role is to hold the enemies up long enough for my teammates to take and hold nodes. With little dps, I won't score high (though the devs are aware and working on a fix to boost healers' scores), so I just accept it.

I play a cleric, which means that I'm more concerned with floating green numbers than floating yellow and orange ones. There are lots of things to do other than just drop shields all day. A lot of it involves buffing others' dps. One needs to accept one's role. If you are just chasing deeps, cleric is not for you.

On who?whith what kind of gear/pots/debuffs on enemy where? screenshot on someone with 14k Daunting light in pvp without 20 buffs on you or 20 debuffs on enemy or didnt happen.

ps. Ok the game should have fkn duel options so u could test sh*t in pvp or generally all the defensive mechanics easier.

Actually ReallyMadCow@jezeen5 (Rogue) thinks that clerics are good for PVP.

I just entered a PVP and started chatting saying that cleric truely sux now for pvp. Then he said cleric doesn't sux you are a cry baby who can't adapt and can't play without a blue circle. That was very fun since cleric has no CC, no dps, and can't heal. Especially coming from a TR. The fun part is that I ended with more points than him cause I was trying to get nodes while he was farming people with lashing blade...

Well true the cleric must heal - but in pvp sometimes one must kill his enemy first before it kills him. Its hard to survive as a cleric if you cant somehow eliminate your foe before he has his skills(encounter and AP) back up again.

Seriously? You are gauging the viability of the Virtuous tree and you haven't even played 60 rank pvp yet? Jebues.
