A Fun, Campy Little Foundry Quest

I stopped by for a quick drink, and just at the moment I least expected, that’s when they came for me...

...mindless, brain eating zombies.

They left me no choice. I struck down the first two waves and ran for the door, vowing to get a drink at a tavern I hoped was substantially more chill.

But then, right as I was almost out, I heard a small voice whisper:

"You know, brain eating isn't very nice."

I stopped dead in my tracks.

Brain eating isn't very nice.

And then, slowly, I became angry. So dark and deep, from somewhere I do not understand it came.

I turned around.

I'm not a violent man. I don't normally go looking for trouble. I sure didn't start this fight. But I promise, as long as I am standing, I will finish it.

Introducing "Bill's Tavern,"(NW-DT773OSV) a new Zombie-revenge style quest with a little bit of ridiculousness thrown in for good measure.

Featuring:
  • Bartender Bill, as the Zombie leader
  • The Grimp, as the Grimp
  • And you, as the OP traveler who likes his brains intact, thank you very much

    I just tried this quest out, and was unable to complete it.

    I was not able to kill Bill. He never spawned.

    Went over the map several times.
    Talked repeatedly with "my conscience".
    Even exited and re-entered.

    No Bill.
    Where's Bill?

    He's in the main room where you first met him.

    Did you beat his accountant?

    Let me know if you still have probs.

    I cleared the map and ran through it several times to be sure.

    Hey mate, not sure what the problem is.

    I just reran to make sure everything was ok, and Bill spawned. Also am still getting reviews coming in so not sure. Never had this come up before. Maybe drop the quest and re-try? Sorry you're having probs.

    It wasn't just your quest, actually.
    Though, the second one I ran had a different problem.

    I ran another daily quest, finished it (the logs said I finished it), but when I went to collect my AD from Rinx, I got bupkiss.
    Weird thing, the daily option wasn't showing on Rinx's window, so "he" obviously thought he was done with me... However, the "quest list" still had it as active. Not my night for Daily Foundrys, I guess.

    ETA: The reason I wanted to mention this in the first place was because I was REALLY ENJOYING this quest. I was quite amused by the dialogue, critter names, and wordplay.... until I couldn't kill Bill. Then I had a sad.

    Cool beans. Before I left on my trip I saw the avg time went down to 15 minutes. Hopefully people won't be too super efficient about running it or it will eventually need to be modified or run off the first page. Thanks mang.

    Bill's Tavern Fun Facts:

    - Bill's Tavern is currently the most played quest in the Neverwinter Foundry. It averages approximately 3,000-4,000 plays per day and has received over 1.7M AD tips since early May.
    - Bill's original name was Julio.
    - In v1, Justin Bieber made a guest appearance. As soon as I learned you couldn't use RL people, I changed his name to Biebs. Then Frank.
    - The original concept was that you were an exterminator Bill hired to rid himself of spiders. Hence why you kill spiders as your first mission.

    Don't you agree though dzogen, daily time limit needs fixing, amongst many other things? Imo, it's kind of meh atm.

    After almost 3 months, and 200,000+ plays, speedrunners finally broke Bill's Tavern under 15.

    I'm frankly surprised it made it that long.

    It's been a fun run...but not gonna update it anymo me thinks.

    Update 9/27: The stair bug caused by the patch has been fixed and the quest is now completable again.
