I shall begin with another topic that will be completely ignored by the devs to pass away my current boredom and vast disappointment in the way this game is going.
Has anyone else asked yourself why does green gear still drop in dungeons that have 8300+ or higher Gearscore rating to enter?
In running T2 dungeons I see everyone simply pass on all green gear that drops and even passing on the unidentified blue gear that drops, simply because players already know this gear is useless to them. As there gearscore states it will never improve for them and selling unidentified gear is pointless. Identifying it even more pointless.
I suggest removing all green and blue gear drops from 8300+ Dungeons, and also from Lv 60 foundry missions. Instead replace these with Rank 3 Runestone drops and the occasional rare Rank 5 runestone drops. Rank 4 runestones should have same drop rate as normal.
This gives all players something they can actually use and want in the dungeosn it may even convince players to stop skipping trash just for the fact that trash will actually drop the occasional very useful Rank 5 rune. And it will give level 60's more reason to run lv 60 foundries.
everything drops junk it's just apart of any mmo, why bother even complaining about this. Minions drop junk in every game... ??? I don't even see the point in complaining about this. I agree with xanos dude, stop crying. This is spilt milk, your honestly disappointed in this game over THAT?
You should go play a really ****ty mmo like gw2. You'll have a lot lest to complain about after.
I find it actually even worse that the majority of purples dropped from bosses (that includes all mini bosses in CN) are also vendor trash. Now thats an actual issue. Or that the best ingame belt for most classes is a blue belt, cause of the offense enchant slot.
Remove it if only for the hassle of having to press pass every time it is picked up. Or you know, let us change loot rules in matchmade group, with some way to filter enchantments from trash greens.

...and then people complain that there's too little gold at endgame. I'm 99% sure that that's what that trash loot is there for.
I agree with the OP, just have the mobs drop enchantments, gold, portable campfires, and potions, stuff that is actually useful. The only argument I've read in this thread is that there will be too little gold...so have mobs drop it directly, as it stands now, everyone is passing on the stuff other than chants and health pots. Loot for loots sake makes little sense when it is completely detached from value. Cryptic needs to refocus on itemization and loot that is actually desirable and useful at end game.
Cryptic feels like it is going through the motions, just completing a D&D "to-do" checklist; Traps in the game because D&D dungeons have traps and Rogues disable them. The traps aren't menacing or a threat in any real way however so they are therefore pointless, rogues don't bother disabling them most times. Same with loot above, loot exists in games to enrich or empower players as a reward for doing the primary function of the game and to be fun, pointless loads of HAMSTER you can't even sell for anything un-ID'ed is worthless. Same problem in crafting systems, though this is more MMO wide than tabletop...endless databases full of HAMSTER items that don't sell to players or npc's for anything just to make 1 or 2 items once crafting is capped that are worth anything, such a wasteful pointless exercise, in literally every MMO with a crafting system.
Devs really need to consider why they put the stuff in that they do, not just complete a "its in D&D or other MMO's so we should put it in too" checklist.
...and then people complain that there's too little gold at endgame. I'm 99% sure that that's what that trash loot is there for.
I have no problems with gold as the leadership profession provides me the gold income I need and a bit more than that. Green gear drops are just a nuisance in t2 dungeons and mostly people just pass the rolls and leave them to the floor. Useless as OP said.
I'm with the OP, I hate green trash when you reach the cap level because they are nothing more than vendor HAMSTER! But worst of all, if you don't identify that HAMSTER, you only get a few copper or 1 silver! But if you identify it, you get over 10 silver!!!!!!! O_O And we all know how long and annoying it is to identify items. So in the end, it's just a time sink!
But the time sink doesn't end there! In any other MMORPG, when you kill a mob, the loot either drops on their body or you click the corpse to loot the item. In Neverwinter, your loot explodes and flies all over the room!!!!! So you gotta waste even more time doing a little "dance" or circle around every corpse and spam the "F" key while pointing your cursor down at the ground to loot everything!
So is that what useless green level 60 BOE items are for? A time sink?

Psst, I've got a secret and I will share it with you now, so read carefully, because I will say it only once:
Everything in MMO is about time sink, because the nature of MMO games is time sink.

What should be implemented is a chance for adds to drop something good. The greens are okay - if you don't want them, don't pick them up. For people like me, who have more trouble earning gold than AD, they're a way to make some coin.
It would possibly greatly improve people's motivation to deal with adds, however, if they had a chance to drop valuable things as well. Say, a purple that's advertised for a dungeon. Or higher ranking enchants. Even with a small chance, it would make dungeons more rewarding and give players a reason not to skip fights. I've seen posts about this and really hope it receives some more attention. Just my two cents.

Yeah, I've never understood the whole mindset of not picking up anything. Ran into it lots in WoW in later years, as well. So strange, all that vendor value of "junk" loot going to waste.
(Doesn't even need to be ID'd, it's still worth some silver. And that adds up.)

As has probably been said, gold for the items. Personally, I'd rather just get the average amount of gold that drops from items, at the end of the dungeon. Of course, that would remove the need to buy stupid amounts of i.d. scrolls. Passing constantly, and the loot result window popping up, is one of the most annoying things in this game.
I guess they could always get rid of ALL loot drops and drop nothing but crafting supplies and gold and require people to get all their gear from crafters, zstore, wonderous bazarre and the AH. :Pwould this be a better idea?

Or, and this might be a crazy idea, they could make a great game, with time sinks being the content itself. Uh oh, better call someone. I should be committed for thinking this way.
TL : DR? Then don't waste my time responding.

Or, they could give the option to ignore looting on a player by player basis. Fighting mobs, and having eight loot result boxes in the middle of my screen, really disrupts my ability to put out damage. Of course, I could hit escape. But, most of the time, instead of getting rid of the boxes first, it goes directly to the esc key window. Then, in the middle of that fight, I have to get rid of that, then get rid of the loot result boxes, then start damaging. It's even more annoying when your group is getting hammered by the insane amount of mobs, and all you want to do is put a shield down and start healing.
Or, and this might be a crazy idea, they could make a great game, with time sinks being the content itself. Uh oh, better call someone. I should be committed for thinking this way.
Or, if you think picking up items from the floor is a time sink for you, then you either have no slightest idea what time sink is or this is first MMO you have ever played and haven't got to max level yet.

I would just love to see level 60 items, from the various dungeons, to drop in an identified state. Right now, since green items are trash, it's kinda pointless to spend the ADs to get scrolls to identify them.
Maybe they could increase the drop rate of greater ID scrolls in level 60 dungeons...

It wouldn't be fun if all the dungeon drops are epic gear. Greens and blues are the "consolation prizes" for running the dungeon. It's better than going home empty handed.

...
Devs care to comment?..... No?... Figured.
It's the little snide **** like this in messages that would make me not even bother with this thread if I were a dev.
10: This whole "loot roll windows blocking my screen" thing shouldn't be an issue. Do you know what's causing it?
15: People looting. Imagine that!
20: That's right, people looting things is what's causing all those windows to pop up on your screen. Normally that's intended behavior, so you can see what the loot is and decide whether or not you want it.
30: The problem most people are having is that these loot windows are magically appearing in the middle of your screen while you're trying not to die or trying to kill something. Do you know what's causing this annoying behavior in the middle of combat? Goto 15.
Or, if you think picking up items from the floor is a time sink for you, then you either have no slightest idea what time sink is or this is first MMO you have ever played and haven't got to max level yet.
Actually, it's not the first I've played. And, yes, it is a time sink. If everyone is sitting there looting every HAMSTER green that drops, i.d. everything, sell it, it takes time. Do this for multiple dungeons and tell me if it isn't a waste of time.
I'm probably older than you are by a few years, and much wiser, I'm sure.

I don't understand what you're saying. Do you agree, or disagree?
Because, you just made my point by trying not to. Unless I want to sit there, wait for everyone to loot, then pass and wait for the result boxes to disappear.......yeah, that sounds like wasted time. Or, option to pass without the result on certain color gear, and not have to worry at all about it. No stupid little windows getting in the way, or having to hit shift 3 every second.
Comments
blue gear = rare stuff = still HAMSTER at 60 -> drops rare or by low bosses
doh!
working as intended and they wont change it anyway. now stop crying

If they could be broken down into low level enchants and/or into crafting resources, would people actually want them.
