SO this morning pvping with a cleric . I have 26K HP . I get hit for 42K HP ! Is this real ?? Are you kidding? Yes I know rogues are getting nerfed . Here is the problem . Rogues are GREAT they way they are for PVE. SO your telling me you are nerfing rogues for PVP ?
I thought this was a pve game . You really will never balance a game with both PVE and PVP . It will never happen . You should take PVP out of this game completely . The PVE aspect of this game is good fun but nerfing a PVE game for PVP is NEVER a good thing.
So does this mean that the dungeons that are already way to hard to beat because of all the adds are going to get harder due to lack of DPS because of PVP nerfs which is 1 % of the game ...
Yes I read that they are toning down the dungeons but nerfing DPS and toning down the dungeons is going to make it the same as it was before .
I think the devs took on more then they can handle for this game .
This is D&D. I thought it was all about dungeons . Guess I was wrong . PVP should have never been included with this game ..
Get it out now and you will have a winner and save this game .

Is anyone standing behind you with a gun put to your head and orders you to PvP? No? Then why play it if you hate it?
I enjoy the pvp in this game more than the pve, why because the pve is a theme park like any other MMO out right now.
On a side note, DnD isn't all about Dungeons, to me it's about imagination, monsters, creativity, ingenuity and probably the biggest exploration be it overland, temples, taverns, and yes dungeons.

Mmmm I was wonder the same thing, Its one thing to suggest improving the game-play but angry rants do nothing for the games progression or your reputation on the forums for that matter.
While very badly written the original poster has a decent point in saying that a DnD PvE run game should not be heavily influenced by any PvP elements within....and lets face it... I remember weapons in Baldur's gate with chance to insta kill ANYTHING as their abilities.... Can we nerf rogues but get daggers with that please?
If there was no PvP I wouldn't keep playing this game. I mean its a fun game but honestly I need PvP to kill players after getting great gear. No point to have epic dungeon gear if I can't kill them with it. Also I love the PvP in this game been a treat and I like it in all brackets too. So its a win a big win for neverwinter. All mmo's in the end to be successful have to have a good PvP gameplay or a lot wont stick around. Like myself. So I am happy and loving the upcoming balance changes since I mainly PvP. PvE is just a means for gear and to have some fun with the guild in a dungeon.

I can see someone never played an Evil class or character on a party where none used detect evil succesful? because you are pretty focused on changing alignment then or ending them!
Also I can see someone in PnP never got a pretty awesome artefact, if there is a disagreement or aligment difference players will kill each other.
When all is said and done this game should be called Nevercleric, because they are so horribly nerfed and insanely weak in pvp and pve aswell if you rolled one your best bet is to go Control wizard or Rogue

Yet if your team has a cleric and the other doesn't its 99% of the time a Insta win. So they are needed and they are part of every single premade cause they are OP.

that is just plain not true, you sure as **** is not gauranteed a win if you join with a cleric quite the opposite, the healing which has been stated on atleast 100+ threats is so low that it by no means reach the level of damage.
Also if you claim to be a serious pvp, you know you just wait for the daily of the CW to kill the cleric in one hit or tell the rogue to attack him so he dies.
and by your moronic logic, a class is op because its in a team? seeing there is atleast dobbel the amount of rogues on everytime and wizards! they must be dobbel so good?
PVP was a business decision like choosing to serve fries if you serve hamburgers. If you want a particular reason for it just look at the demographic that has been raised on FPS games and flood x-box death-matches. Look at the runaway success of team fortress. And look at all the money changing hands thereof and thereupon.
No serious game maker would produce a MMO now and not include PVP. What you should be thanking your lucky devs for is that the PVP isn’t mandatory. You should be pleased that unlike in some other games, big games, PVP is the standard mode of operation.
Here at least there is some brand of separation between the words of PVE and PVP, though this might make keener the sting of joining into PVP to find it wanting; really no one else to blame.
Still if PVP is an excruciation then leave it to molder. PVE will be fine eventually; if rogues turn out to be underpowered for the encounters then the Devs will do something. I think it has been shown that mass opinion has some sway and that in accordance with actual gameplay produces some results. Rogues may have to climb back up a learning curve but the halcyon days of one-shot-one-kill are very hopefully over.
Although the GWF is getting a boost, so maybe they can help you out in PVE. It would give them something to do.
Of which this game has none of.... Exploration is a joke in this game, there is no open world exploration. Ingenuity?? c'mon really? nothing new about this games mechanics. Monsters... yes, dungeon maps... yes. As for the rest, the game lacks it now and will lack it in the future. Sadly...
On a side note, DnD isn't all about Dungeons, to me it's about imagination, monsters, creativity, ingenuity and probably the biggest exploration be it overland, temples, taverns, and yes dungeons.

PvP is the easiest form of "end game" entertainment. Which makes it more or less essential to any game.
Currently MMO's aren't like they were 13+ years ago. You don't spend several weeks or even months leveling to max level, and then 6-12 months trying to get end game gear. To satisfy the average gamer (also known as casual) the game has to be easy enough to allow them a feeling of accomplishment with minimal play time. That means that 15% (made up number, but probably pretty accurate) of the games population will reach max level within 14 days of the game releasing (or in this case going into open beta). Taking it a step further, all "end game" content will have been cleared within 30 days of the open beta, or release date and 30 days after that the average gamer will have 50% or more epics (or in this case, full epics).
PvP is how you appease the masses. If there was no pvp, the population would drop drastically within 30 days of the game releasing, and within 60 days it would be the game you are just waiting for new content to release. Most game companies cannot push out new dungeons/raids of adequate quality every 30-60 days.
Furthermore, dungeons in this game are not hard at all. The current dungeon content is actually relatively bland save 2-3 bosses. The fact you don't need an actual tank is apparent enough that the content is easy. Bosses are no challenge at all, the only challenge comes from massive amounts of adds which become trivial if you have a group that will actually dps them down instead of strictly focusing on the boss and leaving the adds to roam free.
It took me 32 hours /played to reach level 60 on my DC. I have leveled 3 characters to level 60, the most recent being a GWF and it took me 19 hours /played to reach 60 on him. All 3 of them are in full T2 (no, I don't have greater tenebrous enchants, I refuse to spend real money on combining materials to make them) with full rank 7+ enchants and all companions at their highest level (minimum of 3 per character) with full T2 gear on them as well. The irony, the game isn't technically released yet. And the content that they are releasing on the 20th is T1 and T2 gear, so what is there really?
PvP and crafting are the only reason I even log in anymore because quite frankly, the dungeons are boring. Even if they were challenging instead of tedious, what other reason would I have to log in?

Come at me and may the devil take your soul
i think if you re-read his post,he is complaining about skills getting nerf in pve for sake of pvp.
The people paying millions of AD on enchants and gear in the AH are doing it so they can be competitive in PvP. In PvE, you just grind for it anyways.
60 GF(14.5GS) Cersei
60 CW(12.4GS) Shadis
60 TR(12.2GS) Dijkstra
60 GWF(12.2GS) Winnowill
45 DC(WIP) Daenerys
Bingo we have a winner. I gear up for PvP only. Doing PvE is for downtime and a means to get PvP gear.
