How and when will our preview quests get to the live server?

As the title asks, how will this process be done?
There is a rumor floating around that I am working on a new foundry quest. It was started by me.

I'd imagine the preview quests wouldn't make it to live side until after the patch for the new features being tested in the Preview Server went live. Otherwise, you would have a lot of broken items here and there that you would think would work correctly..

I am hoping to have an option not to have the preview server quest ported to live as if this is done it will set me back literally days and a lot of work will be lost.

I don't think you'd want them doing that as they would be writing over your production quest with a quest from a server that may or may not have all its features implemented in live. I've already lost 2 quests due to foundry crashes caused by deleting the wrong thing at the wrong time. I'd imagine this sort of import would exponentially increase that risk.

Work on preview will never make it to the LIVE servers.

We will copy data to Preview but never back to LIVE.

I hope that's not the final word.

We should be able to COPY from Preview Unpublished to "From Preview- <Quest Name>" Live Unpublished?
Kind of like copying unpublished quests now only copy (or import?) from Preview.

I'd hate to (and honestly won't bother) creating/testing a lot of Preview Foundry if it means re-doing all that work on Live Unpublished after versions go live.

Well that is that then. No need to have the preview loaded onto my PC.

    I assumed the transferring wasn't a one-time event.

How often will live Foundry missions be copied to test? And can we initiate the copy (like we do with characters)? If we can do it, or it is a regular thing, then we can transfer over to test-publish and test before doing a live publish. That would be a good thing.

If we can only test before a big update, then it only really helps identify quest-breaking bugs. Which is also a good thing, but not as good a thing as being able to use the test server to test/update/fix before publishing on Live.

To make it what (I think) we all want, we should be able to
    1. Initiate a copy of a quest from Live > Test.
    2. Make changes on Test.
    3. Initiate a copy of a quest from Test > Live.

Then we could use Test as a way to test our quests without worrying about bad reviews/stars for unfinished work--work that can't be tested solo in the foundry with the buggy test characters.

I forsee problems when new updates are coming and the Test Foundry =/= Live Foundry. Perhaps disable Test > Live during those times?

OR (and I think this is a better idea)

Let us publish from Live Foundry to EITHER Live server or Test server. Then I only have 1 quest that I'm editing, but I can publish it to either place and see how it runs. That solves the problem of wanting to see how current quests run under the new updates and gives authors a "safe" way to publish and test under "live" conditions.
