Launcher starting on game exit?

Not sure what the story is here and the answer probably simple but thought it worth the post.

On exiting the game the launcher begins again by itself. Any ideas on what is causing this?

    No idea whats going on, but it also starts patching. A 3gb patch.
    Would love to have a Toggle Double XP option, so i can play on Double XP events. TY.

    Same here :) Hoping for something great to come out of this ;) Too bad its a little on the slow side when downloading though :( But no new patch notes so dunno whats going on :(

    Ditto here with game opening launcher on exit. Not sure if I should let it download the patch in the background (which could take ages at the speed it's going) or if I should cancel and wait for "official" patch information. Would appreciate some kind of official update.

    60+ hours DLing, 15+ hours patching, 1+ hours of gameplay
    i was trying to get D&D neverwinter but mustve got D&D alwayspatcher instead?

    Hour plus DL, currently at 13.6% this is crazy? It is 1589 MB or 1.55 GB

    Odd thing is you can exit the launcher when it begins to patch and then re open launcher and good to play. .can only imagine without cryptic mentioning a big download it must be a bug..or maybe its that new preview server showcasing all the new content for the out of beta launch?

    No idea on the why, but this only started happening after the patch today!
    And it's a right pain :(

    It is the prepatch for the big balance and gameplay patch. They just forgot to tell people that they turned prepatching on.

    It is so everyone doesn't have to download several gigs of data when the launch hits. If you don't want to download the prepatch right now, you can close the launcher and the next time you exit the game it will pick up where it left off.

    Slowest DL ever. Currently I have a 60MB's DL speed(tested during the DL), so this patch should take around 5 minutes - alas after 2hrs though I'm stiill only at 57.4% :(
    Definitely not an Arc User.

    No, it starts all over does not resume from where you leave off.

    Is this thing downloading nonsense on my computer? I hate having unchecked stuff on my hard drive.
