Should we buy our lvl 60 gear?

Well i just hit level 60 and was trying to get my gear score up by running a few dungeons, but then i said wait let me get the pvp Dagger. Then i went to the auction and was amazed that i could buy almost everything for less than about 30k, i have 200k just leveling.

Well the problem is that now i feel ripped off that all my gear was given to me, whats the use of keep doing dungeons, let me rephrase, whats the use of doing ANY dungeons since everything is given to me. I guess thats why the lack of BoP is killing this game, i mean do people just want easy mode all the time?

I opted to not buy the gear after all and play and get my own, but i just find it a sad day that things have changed so much from old days of EQ.

As well i noticed that the enchantments for the gear and weapons is expensive, is this the excuse used now to keep grinding? Basically what are we doing at lvl 60, just grinding enchantments?

It is just an additional option. If you would prefer to buy your gear from the AH, then you presumably don't enjoy running the dungeons as much. If you do enjoy running the epic entry dungeons, then you don't have to buy any gear from the AH. There is also the middle way of mixing it up any buying missing pieces that you have not been able to get as a drop.

Choice is a good thing, and multiple ways to get gear are better than just one, in my opinion.

The reason your gear is so cheap- Is because of all us higher level players already farmed for weeks and have received many many drops of level 60 gear, and a lot of it is completely useless to us- Therefore selling it for ~5k AD or even just selling it for 1.6 gold is just something we do to clear out bank space.

I would still say that if you can afford the gear, buy it. You will still not be able to afford the top end gear yet and will have goals to strive for to better your character, Clearing Dungeons with about a 1/100 shot of getting the piece of gear your after starts to become a pain- especially if you started doing it wearing greens when you could have had a decent chance to actually beat the bosses if you bought the very cheap gear.

Some very good points here. I do often get fed up having to run dungeons like in Tera forever just to get my gear, actually the same dungeon over and over. So i guess buying some is good too since i did earn my diamonds, and like you said i cant exactly buy the higher end stuff so it is a nice trade off, and puts me on par with other players that do have more time than me to play.

One question, should i hold off from putting enchantments on my gear till i get good tier 2 gear since they seem to be harder to get?
