Creating A "Useful" Companion in module

I could use a little help. Working on next few parts of my campaign and in my own opinion it badly needs a NWN 2/Dragon Age style companion to accompany the PC. Is there a way in the foundry of creating a NPC that doesn't just follow, but will help fight along with the PC?

Guard encounters are friendly. You can swap the costume of the lone elite soldier guard encounter.

Sadly though, if the guard dies it won't res. We'll have to wait for Cryptic to add the ability for us to add temporary companions to our Foundry missions if we want to add "party members" basically.

There's also no 2h warrior, rogue or archer guard that can even withstand more than a few hits, which limits your reskinned guards to be Sword and Board Warrior or a Wizard.

Be careful with companions as every mob touched by them will have kill XP zeroed for player. You may want to exclude them from some fights.

As it is now, we have no friendly mobs able to survive fights on their own. Standard sword&board guard is dying really quick at higher levels, the only friendly elite is wizard from guards encounter. It limits your options only to spellcasters and even then your companion will die facing any hard encounter on its own. As any other mob, guards do not heal.

It is possible to have companion made from reskinned guard if you have carefuly paced encounters and triggers making companion respawn after every encounter - but it's very troublesome. Guards do not respawn on their own. Most of the time it's not worth the effort, unless you really need fighting companion in your scenario.

Also, setting "fight to submission" doesn't work on guards. Or rather works, but in a wrong way - guards made with this setting start as aggressive encounter and are friendly to player only after being beaten.
While being aggressive they are also friendly to monsters. >_>
