I have a dialogue where the player needs to search the body / bodies of dead ambushers to discover what is wrong with them.
Can someone tell me how I do this please?

You can place an invisible sphere over the dead body. The player doesn't actually interact with the body, just with the invisible object. (I have this in my quest in case you wanted to see how it looks)
Also, you could just give give them "lying, face down" animation and have the player talk to the NPC. I used that at first. However, the interact text said "Talk to Dead Man", which wasn't quite the right thing

The anvil is just a default object selected for "interact" type quests. You go to your map and search in details for the invisible sphere "Clicky". Place this object on your map where the dead NPCs are. Then go into the story tab and assign the clicky to the quest from there. Then go into 3D edit mode and move the clicky precisely where you want it in relation to your NPC.
