Been gone for a few days, but does anyone know if this has been addressed officially yet?
I usually check the forums for major announcements regarding issues, exploits or updates and I sometimes visit various sites around the web regarding major problems with the game and other stuff.
I did see something about a "fresh exploit" that involved certain things being switched around and ways to basically get around being able to fuse items and gain great profit in the Auction House using these dirty tactics.
After reading through it a bit, I decided to log into Neverwinter, I haven't been on in maybe 4-5 days, it's been a while and I wanted to check the AH to see what the market looked like for these items that could have been effected and saw that a lot of the stuff was REALLY cheap, not sure if this was due to over saturation or a combination of the bug being used to exploit the Market.
I've kinda looked at the last couple of pages of the forums and didn't see this anywhere, but does anyone know if the Devs addressed and are looking into this problem? It really is causing some issues in the market and it's REALLY obvious in certain cases that this is being used.
To those who don't know about this bug, some details I can give are that some people have gotten banned but also it says temporary ban, which may mean anywhere to 48-72 hours which doesn't really assure me very well that people who majorly exploited and used this bug will still be able to retain their earnings or account which i'm not sure will have any effect on whether they choose to exploit again.
Some guy said he's only been temp-banned and also was never banned during the A.D. dupe fiasco and retained his hundreds of millions of A.D. he gained during that time.
Though, I did see some players that have reporting not being banned for this and others continue to use the exploit in different ways involving them maybe going undetected. Although I have been enjoying this game, I have been tempted plenty of times to partake in these exploits, although I haven't, many times I've just been lucky due to being out during these times of bugs being exploited majorly, then CS shutting down servers to fix things, then missing the whole thing when I get back and read about it, but it is kind of annoying hearing about all this stuff, then trying to get on to see, then the servers getting shut down in 1 minute for emergency server maintenance, then reading about all this stuff that has been going on now for days and who knows how long other people have known about it and not reporting it and abusing it since DAY 1. I have never exploited in anyway, but I honestly can see why if someone knows about a bug in the game that should have been fixed and can be exploited, there is only himself stopping him and it is his choice to make, and some people have no problem making those choices and it's not me to judge them but the developers to make sure that these exploits can be prevented by making sure they craft a solid, playable game.
I've played a lot of games, as i'm sure many of you have and know how silly gaming companies can be, but I am finding more examples of how this may be the silliest gaming company I've ever seen and played one of their games for, Cryptic Studios has made a really awesome game as I'm sure many of you would agree is totally fun and cool to play, but the mechanics behind some of these bugs and exploits has really left me wondering why they released a product with so many loopholes and ways to create and destroy this game.
TLDL - Anyway, sorry for getting really off-track, I was just wondering if anyone heard about this fresh bug and if it was being addressed internally. They have already banned a few people, but I have also seen temp-bans and other people going unbanned for exploiting this and would like to know if that's being addressed. Thank You.
