How to create seperate difficulties?

So this question is stumping me I am going to give a very quick example of my map and how I want it laid out.

Start > Talk to NPC > Choose Easy or Hard > Continue to map > Fight Easy or Hard mode depending on what you chose.

This is for the fact that Wizards are able to do a lot more at once then rogues, and I want wizards to still have fun with my quest, that being said I would like the melee classes to be able to choose easy mode if they so please and or choose hard. Does anyone know how to go about making seperate difficulties by selecting through the dialogue?

Thank you in advance,
Pestilence.

You can do that, spawn certain encounter when a dialog prompt is reached and another enoucnter when other dialog prompt is reached. The thing is that it will work for encounters not related to objectives or components. For example: If in your story there is an encounter that spawns after than an objective is completed, you will not be able to modify it with the dialog prompt.
So, yes, you can do it for certain encounters. Unless that none of the encounters of your quest are related to objectives or component(spawn an encounter when you interact with a door, etc).
Anyways, I suggest you not to do this that way because it will be a pain in the ***, but if you still want to do it, i suggest you not only to use a dialog, but also a component and a point marker that trigger different difficulties (still i think its not worth the time, you better wait for a foundry patch that adds something smarter to modify the difficulty)

I forgot to mention that dialogs, objectives and components of one map cannot be linked to another map, so you have to do it after all the map transitions (the main reason why i suggest you not to do it).

Thank you for the quick post, I will look into it, if not I will just create a whole seperate mission for mages. Thanks again!

It's a lot of work. But it helps with ratings.

I played another author's quest (I forget which one it was) where he gave you the option of spawning friendly NPCs. Basically, he tooled the instance for groups of 3+, but if you wanted to do it solo, you could spawn the NPCs to act as your party. If you don't already know, you can generate friendly NPCs by looking for "Guards" under the "Encounters" in the map editor.

I may use this same technique in a future quest of mine.

One of my recent quests: Underground Fight Club. By @Mulat4 ID: NW-DSNE6GSD3

I have set up 3 paths short, medium and long (3/5/7) encounters.
Each can be Easy, Standard or Hard difficulty.

All using Dialog prompts as activation triggers to start encounter chains.

It requires some organization to set up just need's a bit of due diligence..

    Have FUN and good luck.

Yeah, apparently all the npcs have to be in the SAME room to make this happen and then make the encounters end when Component complete I believe?

I had been told it was easier by one of the first posters to just make seperate missions and I thought that it would help with the Average playtime as well so mages just don't reduce the easy missions and make it unable for the melee classes to have the easier mode available for the daily quest. ( When my quest finally makes it out of review I hope )

After many hours last night of messing around with the foundry I cracked out an Easy mode and a Hard mode here are the links, I would really appreciate anyone testing them out for me and giving me any form of feedback is welcome!

    Easy - NW-DJJS7OWZI

    Hard - NW-DPT9I8RKF

Thanks in advance guys and thank you for all the tips and tricks I will definitely try and include them in my next missions!

The problem with releasing them as separate quests is it may cause some confusion even if you mention one is hard/easy as well as the fact it eats away at your 10 quest maximum.
