2 short questions

Hello dear founders.

I have almost found any answer to my questions by myself but I have to problem I can't solve no matter what I try.

1) This one should be easy but I still can't succeed. I want to put on item (like botte or book) on a table. The table is on a high floor (let's say 2 feet).
I tried every combination : adjust priority (high low) and leveling Y to zero or the ground (2 feet) I still can't get that item on table. It always appear on the floor under the table ...

2) To advance the plot I have a mission : speak to NPCs to understand what is happenning. But only one of them can help you enough. How can I make that happen without pointing that special NPC and without having a task error.

Bonus question : is there a simple way to adjust an item (like a painting) to a wall ?

Thanks to all the will help.

1: Use the ingame 3d editor. Adjusting priority only adjusts which is the "top" item in what the editor shows you, it has nothing to do with how things are arranged ingame.
2: turn off the sparklies for that story objective.
    3: Ingame editor again.

I am glad I asked the question. I suspected a tool like that should exist. Thank you very much !

Juste one last question (at least for today), is there a simple way using this view just to put the item on a table for example ? Or it should be done "visually" ?

Visually. Also, when working in the 3D editor grab the outer points, not the middle. The middle is too hard to control to place things.

There's nothing like nwn2's ability to press a single key to have an object dynamically adjust it's height correctly to put cups on tables for instance.

Ok well again thank you both. It's still a great tool.

I also found it handy to use the in-game 3D editor (control-tab) to copy/paste objects. When you paste an object, it will appear on the 'floor". So, for non-3D-editable objects like NPCs (and the respawn fire), you can paste and adjust some other object, and then copy it's X/Y/Z values for the NPC.

I almost forgot the MOST important question.
How can I edit encounters ?
For example with mindflayers almost all encounters have duergars with them (which I totally don't care about).

So how can I pick for example only 2 infiltrators or scourge with no duergars ?
or make an NPC turn to attack ?

You can either put the parts of the encounter you don't want in an unreachable room or you can use the costume function to make them look like something else if you want.

Thank you for your answer but I already know those 2 tricks.
Isn't there really any other way to update encounters ?

Are you asking about making part of an encounter attack itself? As far as customizing encounter spawns, you can only go with the ones already made by picking the closes matches, then cheat by putting the parts of the encounter you don't want elsewhere.

Well I will have to "cheat" than. I really don't like that because as I said most mindflayers encounters are filled with duergars (which is completely silly). This is going to be a pain in the ...

    Again thank you.

I think there might be a few single mindflayer encounters, I don't have the foundry up at the moment. Otherwise, you can either make the Duergars look like Mindflayers or the little hopping brain guys with the costume editor. Actually...shouldn't there be a few Mindflayer encounters with the hopping brains already?
