Auction House borderline useless?

Ok so I am trying to use the auction house to replace some choice pieces of gear and from the hour or so that I have been fiddling with it I have come to the conclusion that it is borderline useless.

1. 400 items limit which changes depending on what parameters are chosen
2. Most specific selectable options to narrow search do nothing
3. Level range limiter is absolutely useless, does not work

Am I being dumb or is the auction house a joke? If so, the next question would be is this why so many people spam /zone with items. Can you blame them for using /zone? What is the alternative, the broken auction house?

    setting item lvl 60-60 works for me, as well as other limitations like epic only

    The level limitation has been broken since Caturday iirc.

    Probably will get fixed one day.

    The reason why people spam /zone with WTS/WTT is because they are either trading for gold or want to find a buyer before posting.

    The only options that seem to change what is displayed were rarity and possible enchant slot if I remember right. Selecting a specific stat had no impact nor did choosing a level. I am not 60 yet so I have not tried forcing it to display only level 60 items.

    I don't remember exactly what didn't work and what did but the most important options didn't, which is what made me scratch my head and give up.

    Ok now the level limiter is working just fine lawl. Yeahhh..cool.

    I decided to use the auction house through http://gateway.playneverwinter.com while playing the game. It takes some alt-tabbing to see if an item is indeed much better than the one your character has equipped, but at least the AH works correctly in it. Sorting works fine, being able to only look for a certain lvl range works, basically it all works except for the option to compare with what your character is wearing.

    It ain't a perfect solution, but it's probably the best until they fix the in game AH.

    Auction House is awesome for storage, not so much for buying.

    Unless of course, like me, you're selling many, many pairs of pants.

    Yes the AH is broken and many of us use a trick! :)

    Instead of clicking on a specific item category, like Waist, or Offhand or Rings, click on the main category! Like Equipment or Runes!

    Then type the name of the item you are searching, for example, type "ring" in the text search field, then set your level range and finally click search!

    BOOM! All the items with the word "ring" in your level range will appear!

    Hurry and go use this ASAP!!! So many people dunno about this and those of us that do know about it are getting so many amazing deals cause most of the population who don't read the forums aren't using the AH at all or are always stuck cause of the 400 item search limit and aren't finding all the best/cheap items! Because the day Cryptic does fix the search and it works for everyone, there won't be as many awesome things for sale anymore cause everyone will be buying the best items! :P

    Now, if only every ring had the word 'ring' in it. It's better to use the gateway exchange.
