Twice now I have been looking at some auctions, found some okay deals with less then a minute. I go and try to bid... but the bid button wont take my bid. I type in the amount and nothing.. i double check the item didn't just sell.. no it didn't. I just cant bid... Why have the timer count the last 30 seconds if you can bid during it?

If someone knows the exact time it cuts off bidding please tell me.:(

firstly, why do u even need to type in the amt? You think you can put up a big bid and win everyone by surprise? You are just wasting everyone's AD.

the only time I type it in is when it stops letting me just hit the bid button.

Typing or not typing in the amount is not the problem. And if he is making a large final bid he is not wasting everyone's AD. That is just a silly comment.

Even if you just want to place the next bid it will not always let you in the last minute. More frustrating is that I have actually seen bids appear in the last 15 secs on items where it wont let me bid.

Click "Place a bid" to auto bid higher. Its not silly. Dont make silly remark.

And how is typing an amount, which is a feature of the AH that he is allowed to use wrong? And if it is the last bid how is he making everyone spend more AD?

There are 2 ways of bidding, just because you only use one of them does not make using the other bad, wrong or silly.

OP's point is that he is not able to place a bid whether he types it in or just "auto" places a bid to the next higher amount because the Place A Bid button is greyed out and cannot be clicked. OP does make a valid argument. The only other option that is available is the Buy Out bid but that's not realistic to ask just to try to place the next highest bid before the auction ends since some of those buy out prices are ridiculous.

This is so mind bottling!!! it has happened so much now. I will just start bidding later... and hoping someone up bid me, since I obviously cant bid like everyone else gets too. lol

I know this isnt an only me issue, but it sucks.

Yeah I was trying to bid on a rank 8 enchantment, bid was only 100k... buy out was 11million... hahaha yeah.. not using buy out there.

When the auction used to end in the negative time range before, it was much better for the seller because many times the auction wouldn't end till an hour after the last bid. The current way is the normal auction practice but the vague end of bid time remaining may be Cryptic's way of anti-sniping feature but it is a poor one at that.

If they want an anti sniping feature best 1 I know of is when a bid is placed during the final minutes of the auction it adds say 5 minutes to the remaining time to allow other bidders to respond if they still wish to. And it does that each time a bid is placed below that time threshold. That way all participants can see when the planned end is rather than it being some invisible time that only the code knows.

Not a bad idea Kiralia. I know "ninja bidding" is a concern for some of my friends. I haven't really formed a personal opinion about it yet, but it seems to be bothering some people, and I kind of wonder if some players are doing some griefing via the AH. Your idea is good; for another idea, I seem to remember playing some MMORPG at some point where you could set your account to continue auto-bidding on an item in pre-determined increments and up to a pre-determined amount.

Boggling. Mind boggling. ..Sorry, pet peeve.

I feel for your situation. If the auction is still ongoing, then everyone should be given the opportunity to bid.

Using a word incorrectly after someone else has doesn't make it correct usage, it makes you just as wrong. Two stupids don't make a smart.

Back on topic, I'd love to know how people are managing to bid in the last 15 seconds, as I get locked out at 59 seconds. Somehow people are bypassing this limitation. I'm tired of losing items to snipers who seemingly have a different set of budding rules.

Not having a sense of humor doesnt make you correct either. Obviously your thoughts are all trapped inside your head...like a bottle..its mind bottling!

i love ninja bidding as i mention in other post i usually bid in the last 30 to 15 seconds depending on my ping time and conections, the system won't let you bid unless your windows is refreshed to the latest bid in the system so everytime you are going to bid refresh first and then bid after that usuallyif you do not do that and other bid is already there you are going to get the error, and in my personal case if the prize is right i go ahead and bid twice (outbidding me) on the last 5 to 10 second will be dificult to others to refresh and bid in that short windows apart from 2 loses once when i started to play and the second, when learning my limit of timing for bidding o won all other 21 items iven the last one the best smiting beserker belt (60) for under 149k AD ;) is timing and really knows your network and computer limits, again do not use your Phone or ingame bidding, for some reason i found that gateway is better for that.
Everything works out in the end . If it hasn't worked out yet, it isn't the end...
