How to get out of that first PVP quest

I loath PVP and everything about it.

Thats line is mainly to shake off the PVP fans who will stop reading right there. If you are like me and would rather eat glass than subject yourself to PVP, you will notice that the game give you are PVP quest whether you like it or not. I suppose Cryptic decided that if they were going to make it then, by god, you were going to play it.

Now if you are playing a CW or a Rogue you might want to try it anyway because there is a very good chance that you will feel like you are doing something, like you have a chance, even if you don't win.

Otherwise I wouldn't recommend it.

So you will get a PVP quest, even if you decline, it will still go into your journal and stay in your “whats up” window so you will have to look at it every time you level up.

The only thing you can do is exactly what the quest says, go talk to the battle-master. Follow the sparkly trail to the PVP door and enter the hall, tale to the scared up elf and accept the PVP quest.

That will put you into the que and also complete the quest.

I don't know how to leave the que early but you can just wait and the que will notify you when a group is ready and you can just decline that and you are done, finished, finito, with PVP and good riddance.

FAQ

But I level entirely with PVP!
Good for you. I'm glad you like it. I'm sure Cryptic is thrilled.

This just means your bad at pvp N3wb!
You play your game and I'll play mine, okay?

I could destroy you at PVP!!
Right, look junior, go cure a major disease and I'll tell everyone I know how awesome you are. Seriously, I will do that.

You're mad that you have the option to pvp?!
No, read it again, slowly. I'm saying you are forced to accept this quest. No way out. But you don't have to subject yourself to the indignity of PVP to get rid of the quest.

So you are saying you are upset about being given the option of PvP? The presence of a PvP button on your dungeon button offends you?

    You just went full HAMSTER.

    Sissy.

Any parents on this thread, THIS is what happens. Take note and look in on your young ones now and then.

And this is why reading comprehension is so important in any curriculum. But I will update the FAQ specifically to address this. One might call it backing up and punting.

You actually don't have to accept the pvp que from the npc. The quest completes when you talk to him. You can also drop the que from the que menu, just like any que.

I don't understand the point of this post. All the beginner quests like that are more akin to tutorials. It just let's you know where the pvp area is, and that you can que for pvp there.

The previous posters were just pointing out the fact that this is a redundant topic about the basics of turning in quests, and you are clearly rage posting about nothing.

I thought I tested that, having talked to him and finding the the quest was still not cleared. I could be wrong of course.

If anyone is reading this for any info, then give it a try. Does the quest drop just on talking to the NPC? It didn't seem to for me.

I see your point about the location of the PVP office and its a valid point. I just didn't want to have people running around with that silly quest sitting in their window. This very thread and its erudite responses exemplify why someone might not want to ask about it. I figured I might as well take the heat and get the info out.

If you think this post has no merit then by all means, let it roll off the bottom. Don't reply. Just let it disappear and it will do that very thing. Or reply in some unproductive and useless manner to let people know what they will be in for if they have info or a question.

Just one more reply moves this right back up to the top and I don't mind the bump.

No such thing as bad publicity.

You only have to hit the first option the NPC gives you. Once you get to his second page of dialogue (before it even puts you in queue), you complete the quest.

And as for leaving queue, you do it like any other queue for dungeons and such. Press K to open the queue system, and you'll see two columns. Left side is things to add, right side is things you are currently in wait for.
