Riddles in the dark. (Part 1) Version Final - NW-DLEWTKWKD
Brethren of Five, by Draedis@lolsorhand
Short Code:NW-DLEWTKWKD
Mission Type: Indoor/Outdoor. Storyline/RP and Exploration.
Average Duration:20-40 minutes.
Amount of Combat: Medium/Heavy to Extreme. Depending on area and how you go about it. I would like point out that MANY of the encounters are avoidable, as in you can sneak past them, even without being a Trickster. - And groups are pullable when it comes to the larger ones, such as one boss battle in the Cavern, and the beginning of the last area.
Starts at: Protectorate, Neverwinter.
Maps: 8, (Home in Protectorate, Meeting Place, The Golden Rooster, Camp, Encounter, Caverns, Shore Camp, Letters in red.)
Suggestions: Read what the conversations say, it's quite important and at some points, certain wordings will have dire consequences, and might even fail the quest alltogether. And certain things might carry meaning across the campaign, or the quest itself.
Mission Summary: After meeting with a mysterious stranger, and heard his offer to find a measly little letter for a good payment, you've decided to take up on the offer and set off to your first clue of finding this letter. A man named Gromy lives in an encampment quite far away from Neverwinter.
Description:
Storyline/RP with heavy encounters. (It is rushable for daily, i'm not forcing story on anyone.)
Difficulty: Solo - Hard/Extreme | Duo : Medium/Extreme - Party Easy/Medium/Hard (It is failable, in certain places and dialogue.)
You've been asked to meet with a stranger back in Neverwinter at his home. However, He had seemingly heard of your talents and offered you a "job" so to speak, this via a young messenger. You are to find a letter, and the first clue being a ranger that lives far east from the city. The letter is to brought back it back to him or one of his servants, the codeword being, "Grainbottle", the means seems to do this seemed unimportant to him.. - He also did offer quite the reward for completing his request. Although, the man's intentions were at best unclear, and the only detail you could remember of him were his unatural deep stare.
((This map is the first part of the campaign "Brethren of Five." - It's mixed with some humour, dialogues, an encounter. - 2 players or more recommended.
With the the last update, the final boss encounter has a choice of difficulty, since i've heard it's too easy, and too hard. I hope this will give the boss some weight to the questline.
If you want me to (if foundry isn't limited in that regard.) For alternate routes to reach Neverwinter, i can start working on that. But in the end it is up to you to decide, would you want that?
And thanks all for helping me build this map, i've put considerable ammount of time into it, adding details on a daily basis, dialogues and improvements. But before i really jump into part 2, i have a need to feel, it is.. Done. While creations such as these selldom follow with such a feeling, it can be more polished than not.

Special thanks to those who seem to deem the map worthy of tips, and the high praise. I'm quite humbled by it.
And i will put their usertags here if they wish for it.
The foundry description will say Finalized when this update hits the servers. Then, i will have a long playthrough and finally enjoy it myself, or perhaps with a party.
Safe travels out there

"F to go to next map" on first zone.
I took a random 1hko in the last fight where you defend. Idk what this was.
You probably don't need to use overworld map when you come out of the bar.
Probably don't need overworld map on the next zone either.
Liked the idea of the barricade after, maybe it would be good if it was explained better. Feels like its thrown in there when I think it's one of your strong points here.
instead of using asterisks you can use Out of Character chat or Quest Info for action descriptions
Stacked encounter near the first respawn point in the cave is really tough/annoying/not fun/impossible solo
I will keep the overworld map, because i like it that way, it's a difference in taste i guess. But i'm used to Baldur's Gate, and those series.
I guess i could use OOC chat for that, it's just that many people, like me don't have that in their/mine chat. - But i could look it that, and i thank you for the pointers.
And as i said, not recommended solo(says +2 players in description, so hanging that out as a negative? as i feel it, is totally off.), but possible without deaths. But it's not easy, i'll give you that.
But to that encounter scene, what i could do is add another area to the map. - To explain it better, and i will probobly do that, also quite easily done.

Will do, the other two instances completed. - Also new update just now, 1.9 - Improved certain dialogue, fixed fugly terrain. ( Not from detail but from original map. ) Also improved the new area, making it easier to understand, if that was hard before.
Finishing touches for now: Including a few changes in quests/npc placement. But most notably, probobly the sounds and rain in the first area.

I am curious if all of these foundries are rediculious like that. I am a wizard but **** I can't control that many at once >>
If the lesson was to be don't try Foundry it's almost working by the 3rd one .. I'm not willing to try another.
Also not sure if it's bad design but thanks to the Traps in one of those 3 I was able to pass it as NPC's don't run over their own traps and stand there, yay! but then it was to easy.. but oddly satisfying to get revenge on them from afar.
Not sure which one or what you are really talking about here, but this quest has a recommendation of two players or more. If you intend on trying to solo it, be prepared for a challenge. Even though it is doable - Using the enviroment against enemies is something i'd encourage always. - And wouldn't see it as bad design, unless it was something really odd. - Then again, i've no Ogres in my Foundry, not a single one.

For those that didn't catch it quite off the bat, It's a storyline, that is skippable for those hack n' slashers who wish it so. It's a great map for leveling, but i've made it so, for those who wish to play it for the story the key is exploration. Many encounters are in fact avoidable, but it's often up to the player him/herself to just put some thought into it.
If you wish to bullrush through this at solo, i'd say.. You might have a great time, or a bad time, depending on what kind of player you are. It is best to play with a friend, or party, and quite RP friendly.
