While I don't have an issue with pink for boys and blue for girls... I still don't see why dyes aren't bound to account and/or tradeable. My elven cleric of Corellon has no need for pink or red dyes but my other characters might.

The problem, of course, is that would limit dye sales - you could create alts just to get the dyes for your main character. Not saying that is a bad thing or a good thing, but it would have a significant impact.

Was thinking about this, couldn't you just make alts for dye and use them to dye a piece of BoE gear then trade it and delete the alt?

Don't think dying binds gear to you.

While i'm all for it. It wont happen due to abuse. Put simply if you can trade them between your characters. You would never need to buy dye ever. As long as you are patient and willing to keep remaking characters to get the welcome box over and over again.

considering how much money pw wants to squeeze out, they probably think "no one will buy dyes OMG" (funny enough arena.net tried the same HAMSTER in gw2 beta and changed it after people pointed out how idiotic it was and the opposite what was announced)

While i can understand why they won't, they could at least make the welcome pack ones available for xx amount of gold. gotta have some use for that currency. 5 gold each sounds about right to me...
