hi everyone, like the title says, i'm currently building my first foundry quests in the form of a 3-5 part campaign and i wanted to get the feed back and opinions of people on how to make it better
this first quest is basicly just me getting used to creating npcs, monsters, placing the monsters and building zones
i'll use the feedback people give me and implement it into the quest itself and i'll probably do this for about 3-5 of these quests
also, don't mind the unusual story
for me building a nice deep, well thought out story was not my main objective at the moment, i mainly built the story to see how i could link each of the zones together in a more natural way,
if you want to give feed back on my story writing or have questions about it, feel free to do so, i'll try to adjust the story to fit the lore as well
also, PLEASE DO NOT RATE THE QUEST, it is no where near a completed state and probably won't be until i feel confident that it's ready to be rated
here is the code for the campaign btw
NWS-DKTWPIZJJ
and here's the code for the quest or quests i've done so far
Just so you know, putting an unfinished quest out there is really setting yourself up for hardships later. I know you want feedback on it, but there are lots of people that will play the quest and not care that you are looking for feedback and rate it 1 start. This will cause you to have to make up a lot of ground when you are ready for ratings.
The best thing you can do is make the quest YOU want to make to the best of your ability. Get it at least 90% complete as you see it, then release it. You have a better chance of getting positive reviews plus you can still take any feedback and continue to improve.
And another thing, it really floods the foundry and gives an overall negative view of it, when the majority of quests that players are seeing are unfinished works in progress.
I can't tell you what to do, but I am just trying to offer advice.
At best, you can always unpublish your quest, create a copy of it, name it something else and republish it as a new quest once it is complete.
Unfortunately, this quest was done to the best of my ability at the time, I did try to put it up on the server with at least 15 minutes of play time so that even without a good story and blandly designed maps, people could still get exp and hopefully some kind of decent reward from it
I know people will come and rate it one star, but right now all I have to test it with is a level 25 TR and a level 11 CW, so I have no idea how difficult the quest is for a level 60 which is the primary reason I want people to come in and give feed back
I will try to make a much more complete and higher quality quest for the next part though once I'm used to how the foundry works and am more experienced with it so that I'm not contributing to the flood of incomplete quests
right now I'm just working on this one single quest and trying to make it the best I possibly can so that I could take what I learn and apply it to the next one
The best thing you can do if you just want feedback and NO reviews. hide the end chest, so players can not finish it (and thus can not review it) Then put in all caps on the listing, "UNFINISHED QUEST. TESTING AND FEEDBACK ONLY. NOT ABLE TO BE COMPLETED" And maybe put your forum name so they can search for you on the forums.
