Anyone know when the drow race is scheduled to launch?

I have read all of the Drizzt books and naturally, I am a huge fan and I've been super stoked since launch for them. (I plan to make a Drow Rogue). Anyone know when its coming out?

    "Drow are one of the playable races in Neverwinter, but are not expected to be available at launch. Instead, they are currently planned for introduction 60 days after launch."

    So saying you have to get a hero pack is indeed very wrong.

    Indeed. And the HotN pack is only for the exiled drow.

    Of course the question of 'which launch' is unanswered...

    Ahhh right so probably 60 days after full launch? **** the games still in beta correct? Gonna have to wait awhile I guess.. :(

    They stated 60 days after launch is when Drow will be released to everyone.

    And I am guessing that means 60 days after they launched the open beta.

    Guys if you do a bit of digging for information you will find out they already cleared up this issue and stated 60 days after OBT launch. Don't feel like digging to find it again, but I have already done the same search with those results found.

    So; guess we can predict the exact day they'll be available then and can then hassle the devs when they don't turn up?

    it was stated at least 60 days after launch. my 60 already has 30 ardent coins, so you'll have at least another 30 days (+5 for the head start).

    Balance/fix the current characters, then worry about new ones.

    Race =/= character.


    (On the other hand, I'd expect that the drow race would come along with the two new character classes in a Big Release, so....:p)

    MY guess is, this will happen at the same time they drop the big Module 1 patch. Rangers and Drow together again.

    That is what I figure as well...only my Ranger will be a half elf, I was playing that race/class combo when Salvatore was still working as a Bouncer.

    Say what? i have to wait 60 days to play a Dark Elf? So thats why i can't find him on the character select screen. I thought maybe i was going blind.

    Why would i hang around and wait for that when the game isn't even released yet. I could be waiting 6 months to a year for all i know.

    Congrats to the marketing department for destroying my enthusiasm for the game with the swish of a pen......

    Drow is already available (Menzobaranzan Renegade) to those that bought the $200 founder's package.
    Drow will be made available to the free community in roughly a month. So suck it up and wait.

    It is not, but if you read the thread you'd find that someone has pointed out it'll come out around June 30th. Patience is worth it, the game is fun.

    The only stupidity here was the decision to make Drow non playable for 60 days and those who defend it.

    I looked up the game (ie; a D&D game) and it said Drow was a playable race. I download, i am already to play and i get to the character select screen and.......... no Drow. Then i find out i have to wait 60 days or pay 200 bucks to play one. Really poor 1st impression.

    I've got no interest in starting 2 months later than everyone else, nor do i have any interest in playing another race. I guess like all the other Dark Elf players out here, i'll just stick to the game i am playing now and wait for ESO and play a DE on day 1.

    EQ Dark Elf
    EQ2 Dark Elf
    Vanguard Dark Elf

    Fixed that for you. Drow of Underdark are alive and well in DDO. Just be patient and we'll have them here as well. Besides the ESO or Skyrim elves even the dark ones look like <font color="orange">HAMSTER</font>. Remind me of the guy in those old bitter beer face commercials. (Google it)

    I laugh at all the fools in here who think they should be given anything and everything for free. World doesn't work that way.

    They said the Menzo Drow race was available right now and it is. If you don't wish to fork the money over for it then there's no sense complaining about it. Only a child, or those with a child's intellect, would see it any other way.

    As to the eventual release of the Drow race (for those unwilling to pay)... patience is a virtue.

    Here is my opinion on when the Drow will be released. Module1 is the next big thing being released 8/22. State of the Game said the new Class and new Paragons will be slated for release by the end of the year. So if I had to guess class/paragons should be late Oct/Nov. So if that is the case they will most likely release Drow before that so if people by the end of Sept are already running out of content with Module1 they can enjoy the release of the Drow. Month later people getting bored with their 60 Drow, them BAM new class and new paragons.

    It has said that since February. August 20 was the very first day it could have been released but it was never a release date. Vanilla Drow will be released in due time. :)
