For just dps, is the higher damage range of the Reaver's Edge preferable, or the Crit/ArPen/(Pwr) of the Duelist? I'm currently running a WMS/WS Instigator build.
Reaver's Edge:
Damage: 769-941
+900 Maximum Hit Points
+1,344 Power
+225 Defense
+225 Deflection
+90 Life Steal
Greatsword of the Heroic Duelist:
Damage: 752 - 919
+1,565 Power
+252 Critical Strike
+108 Armor Penetration
+108 Defense
The +19 weapon damage from reaver's equals approx. 475 power. The defense modifier if you feated for it would add an additional 45 or so.
I can't recall the defense/scale per 1000 damage, but that 900hp would yield you would most likely keep you up if you get double-shot in wolf's den. (assuming you were at full health with at least 13 con.)
Now.. the armor pen loss would be noticeable at end game, but the crit strike will be something like .8% loss or some such at lvl 60.
(I ended up picking up the Drake's, Avatar of war greatsword for a mere extra 2 damage on SS, from the duelist, increased my power with other items by 500, but lost 200 Arp, and my low end damage increased while the median value dropped. Next up is rebuilding my paragon tree so that I can better benefit from my recovery stat as it broke the 1200 barrier.)
90 life steal is pretty meh at lvl 60. just drop a lifesteal bit on your pet and you'll be popping the 1hp all the time, and grab a better stat allocation. ^_^
Thanks for the input, yea, the drake would be nice, I got both the Reaver and Duelist cheap off the AH and was wondering which one to go with until I can get a better upgrade. I figured Reaver for slightly better survivability, I just wasn't sure about dps since it seemed close.

Power / Crit / ArM Pen are 3 of 4 main stats a GWF wants.

Damage range is your first concern, after that worry about the other stats.
