I have the game set up to save my login ID. When I am in-game, and I decide I want to switch characters, I log out, instead of exiting the program. While it is annoying to have to log back in again instead of having the option to return to character select, it is still faster than having to start the program again.

I've noticed that when I do this, the login screen shows my saved username, but adds a "1" to the end of it, so I have to delete that extra character to correct the username before I enter my password to log back in. I've tried this with my girlfriend's account and it does not react the same way, only my account does this, so I don't know if this can be easily reproduced.

To attempt to reproduce the error, log into game and enter game world with a character. Then log out (do not exit) from game to return to login screen. If no username is present, enter username, enter password, check the box to save username, log back in, enter game world with a character, then log out again.

Of course, the only reason I ever log out instead of exiting is to make a character switch, so it would be better, in my opinion, to have the option to return to character select instead of logging out of the account.

Type /gotocharacterselect and wait out the 15 second timer to switch characters without logging all the way out.

Ah! Thanks much for the tip :)

A button to go to character select, and not having to wait the 15 seconds would still be preferable, but I'll give that a try.

Of course, this still doesn't change the fact that logout has this strange error of adding the "1" to my username, but If I don't have to logout to make a character switch, then I don't really care.

No problem. Try to move out of traffic when using it as another character bumping you will interrupt the timer and cancel the logout.

This whole "add "1" to username after logout" bug has been around forever. I'm not just talking about Neverwinter, either. It has done exactly the same thing in Star Trek Online and Champions Online for years.

It's funny that it doesn't always do it though. Also, thanks for tip... now I just have to remember the command (auto complete?). When the Gateway was working well, I would just do my professions on other character while playing with current character. Hope they fix that soon.

This is not the same bug, but I'm unable to post a new thread, so whenever I login using email, and then log out and exit out before timer expires, I get junk numeric code in Login box, e.g. #1#36434309851657 is in there now. This does NOT happen when I login using User Name instead of email address, and I am not seeing the +"1" bug as reported here.
