Silenced as a Spammer for 24 hours? Silenced from ALL chat channels.

Alright so I logged in today and posted exactly this in zone chat:
..:GDN__Selling All PvP Weapons__::.. Every Class! Whisper Me.

I waited more than 1 minute in between sending the message again, more than enough time for an incredible amount of actual spam and messages to be pushed through the chat window, then sent it again.

Got some whispers, made some deals, sent it a third time a bit later.

Then a system message tells me I have been flagged as a spammer and can't use chat for 24 hours. Great. Thought this meant zone chat, whatever I can deal with just using the AH.

But I can't talk in party chat, I can't talk in whispers, I can't talk in guild chat or any custom chat channel. I effectively can't play the game, because some faulty spam detection has a ridiculous 24 hour silence on ALL chat channels.

This is pretty insane and might as well be a one day ban. I can't respond to friends, they just think I'm afk or ignoring them. Can't talk in party chat, so I get kicked from groups.

There is no way this is intended, is it?

    Any source on that? Definitely happening quite often and makes no sense why it would stop you from using party and whisper.

    The game was designed to troll people. It seems some people actually know how to play, you Sir, apparently don't. Get to flagging! And to Kicking! But wait until the bosses are almost dead, you don't wanna get your butt handed to ya nor to let someone get a roll for it dying before they were kicked. Timing is everything. Also, right when you're about to win pvp, kick everyone for the lulz. Bug auctions, so that people lose their AD and/or items for sale. There are plenty of things to do if you start being positive and learn how to play the game as it was intended. Start reporting/kicking/ninjaing and learn to play bud, then things will get better since you'll know how to play.



    PS: Same thing happened to me minutes after logging in sending just one message, instantly got muted almost as soon as it went out so i doubt there was even time to flag it unless my name got right clicked in the frantic scroll the real spammers cause. Second time it has happened in weeks. Either way I'm in <font color="orange">HAMSTER</font> mode for the rest of the week. Cause I learned how to play. You should too. Just go into <font color="orange">HAMSTER</font> mode for a week when it happens, it makes you feel like you're striking back and you may end up with something worthwhile out of it

    Yes. It's nothing new this is happening in NW. Champions Online had it 1st, then STO.
    Once youre muted, it's on everything. On all 3 Cryptic games. Because all share same chatserverthing.

    But since the 'New baby' has it's peasants moving something is happening:
    From the CO PTS(publictestserver):
    We've done some tuning to the settings behind chat banning. This should better allow people to rehabilitate after being reported.

    What ever that means.
    Maybe they offer free therapy sessions for the shock of getting muted has caused.

    So do you just get flagged as a spammer if people report you? It does not check it just blindly says "ok we got a report, shut him up now".

    You get muted by gettin 'Spam Reported' and getting put in ignore. Both features work same way.
    It's automated. Enough clicks and POP, you're mute.

    oh really? gotta say this community is horrible, horrible assinine development just combine for a nuclear explosion of epic fail. my mute should be lifting soon, if it happens yet again for no reason I'm definitely getting my **** money back.
