No Quest and Quest Marker Help?!

Hey community. I'm a lv 13 TR (human) and I only got a couple of quests. The Foundry daily, Orc Skirmish, and Relic Hunt. But my friend who is a lv 13 GWF (human) got so much more quests than I did. Like inspect the south wall in the Tower District and he was able to get quests at the bottom side of the Tower District. Why did this happen?

Also, I don't have the quest marker (the blue diamond with a gold outline to show where I have to go). How do you turn that back on because I don't know where to go...?!

There are contacts that give class and race specific quests in some zones. Your friend met the contacts' requirements. Often you will be contacted through your in-game mail pointing out these contacts when you meet the requirements.

Some types of quests don't have map markers:

Orc Skirmish is accessed using the PVE queue ( hit L and go to Skirmishes, or PVE Queue pages )

Relic Hunt is a Zone Event in the Tower District. It pops up for a limited time and while it is active you collect "Relics" that randomly appear in locations around the zone.

The Foundry Daily is a 'wrapper' mission; it completes when you finish a Foundry mission that is eligible for rewards (Hit L and go to the catalog tab: eligible quests will have a notice in green text.)

    Hope that clear things up.

But for him, it shows a question mark within the diamond that tells him to go there when he was across the map. As for me, I had to run over there and then I see an exclamation mark within a diamond when I got really close. This is happening with Scout Gaelen at the Cloak Tower area.

This is happening for all my quests on one character. Two of my characters have no problem, but my level 14 mage has no quest markers, no quest path, anything. I've tried toggling it with Z but nothing happens. I dug through the settings to see if I could find something I accidentally set but couldn't find anything terribly obvious to it.
