Loosing Sound when headphones plugged in while client open

I've had it happen of two different computers and two different headphones

Steps:
1. Plug in headphones (and mic, I use a headset at home and noise canceling headphones at work)
2. start game client
3. Hear sound from client
4. unplug headphones, replug in headphones. No Sound from game client

Other sounds from the computer still work (media player still plays through the headphones). But I need to close and restart the game client to clear it.

Work around for now is to have the headphones plugged in before the game client is launched and to not unplug them.

thats not a game issue, its a windows feature, a really really really annoying windows feature, but a windows feature all the same, since vista, windows handles sound on a per application basis, problem is it'll hapily drop it if you unplug your audio, but wont re-enable it if you plug them back in while its running. annoys me everytime lol

Okay, thanks gwalahad. I've never run into it before but I don't normally use headphones at home and at work, they stayed plugged in, normally.
