I have tried using visible if player has item with a couple of different objects in a couple of different ways, with the switch thrown both ways just to be sure.
Apparently enabling the "visible if player has item" causes the object to be invisible, regardless of other parameters?
Am I missing something or is this another "issue they know about"?

ive noticed this too, also if you change the "invert if statement" thing
Right... once you select "visible if player has item" the object disappears. Doesn't matter if you have the item, or not, and doesn't matter if its inverted or not either.

I was testing this yesterday, and it didn't work at all like it's supposed to in Foundry preview, both in the positive and in the inverse. I had to rework a bit of a quest, for the worse because I couldn't use this.
I have and inky cloud (looks like a darkness spell went off) and i want it to disappear when the nearby mobs are killed, or if the player has a certain item not be able to see it at all.
Basically I am looking for a second way to despawn the inky cloud(in addition to killing the mobs). Since there is only one trigger for despawning, and it is pegged on "kill those mobs", I need an alternative way for someone who has found a secret area/item to deal with the dark cloud.
I have been trying to think of workarounds and I'm stumped.
It would be nice to get some words from the dev team on this

I just set up a test quest to publish and checked on this. It doesn't appear to be working right with published quests either.
