So I was wondering how should I gear up my GWF (I've been leveling up alts for a couple of weeks and I kind of miss her now). I checked up the AH for cheap sets and saw the Bladestorm one.
I'm a Recovery fetishist and I like to build heaps of it in every character I play. Combined with the price, it inmediately grabbed my atention. It also seems like it's very abundant so I get that it's either fairly easy to get or few people are interested in building it.
I think it's because it doesn't give Crit or ArPen, right? Actually I'm finding ArPen to be a very useless stat, considering all the damage reduction debuffs GWF have. I mean, it's okay to have some, but I don't see great benefit of building tons of it instead of Recovery.
I can miss the Crit, but I also realized that my character doesn't have that much Crit to begin with.
So, for GWF players: is this an okay start, in your opinion? I've seen other set pieces around and since I do not have a list (like the ones made for Cleric and Rogue), I can't truly compare. I've been told that Avatar of War is currently one of the best sets around, but it's around the millions, so for the moment... No, thanks.
My TR is already geared with a PvP set, so she's kinda ok. Same with my DC, need to finish the Greaves to get a full Divine Emissary (and level her up, hehe).
Cheers.
Characters: - Titania Silverblade, the Iron Rose of Myth Drannor (Lvl 60 GWF, Destroyer) - Gwyneth, the Cowardly Cat Burglar Drowling (Lvl 60 TR, Saboteur) - Lady Rowanne Firehair, Heartwarder of Sune (Lvl 33 DC) - Satella, Sensate (LvL 44 CW, Renegade, Non-Active)
I have the Bladestorm set, and it seems pretty good. I also like the Recovery bonus, though Crit does hurt when using the set. I tried to balance it out by equiping rings and clothing that grant crit bonuses.

Reason there isn't a lot of the good gear on the market, is that most are GWF have issues finding T2 runs atm. Unlike CW and TR which are the preferred classes for dungeon delves. So without a lot of GWF running and clearing content as quickly as the other classes, you won't see as much of their flow down loot ending up on the AH.
I was told that the PvP set was good, but alas I loathe PvP so much... Thanks anyway.
I agree the pvp set which focuses on armor penetration is the best bang for you buck. Just pvp for around a couple days and you can get the whole set. The bladestorm set is decent too with it's focus on Recovery which works well with the Destroyer determination/slam-spam build. IMHO armor penetration > recover > crit (crit/crit dmg) > power > everything else.

FYI gwf pvp set is the best money\value. next is berserk\avatar.

U don't have to pvp to get one... buy it from AH or some guy who is selling glory... super cheap.

Power>crit>recovery>armorpen ??
Armor PEnetration > Recover > Crit/Crit Dmg > Power ... sadly power is worthless to a GWF.
Recovery is very good for us. More slam = more win. Also the feat in destroyer that gives armor pen based on recovery.
