I know this has been brought up in another thread, but it has scrolled so many pages back that I'm wondering if this ever made it onto the team's radar.
Last I heard, a dev (the one with the Panda avatar) had promised the community that no changes had been made to the Guardian, thus there could be no bug. That was good enough for me. The devs ought to know their own game. Right?
Then I logged in.
My intention isn't to rip into the devs for being human and missing a bit of buggy code somewhere. I love the game and I love the team. But devs (or Panda guy at least), with all due respect, listen for a minute. (Also: NO ONE on the dev team plays a Guardian Fighter? Because if they did, the team would be aware of this bug.)
Here's a common scenario for me against ranged enemies: Head into the fight while blocking, then Q for the lunging strike encounter power, and IMMEDIATELY go back into blocking stance on contact. This ensures that I stay out of a vulnerable stance for just long enough to lunge forward. Sometimes, some attacks get a shot off on me, but most of the group's attacks are successfully blocked--as it should be!
There are several other common combat scenarios where block is handy in a pinch. I said IN A PINCH. Not on cool-down.
It's an action MMO, but what this bug does to the block ability is turn it into a cool-down ability. I honestly don't believe this is a stealth-patched "feature", slipped in during Open Beta with zero notice. Why? Because
the ANIMATION still works upon a second press, but the character bugs out, sometimes with its head shaking to and fro very violently, as if it's trying to get unstuck. Most of the time there's no indication that block is not working until I realize I'm in fact taking damage or getting knocked back WHILE the block animation is active.
Anyone can see this is a bug from a million miles away, which is why the devs weren't (aren't?) aware of it. That's how it goes with bugs sometimes. Thankfully, that's what we players are good for: nagging you about bugs.

Playing as a trickster rogue ever since the server side stamina / block patch, occasionally when I take a hit mid roll my character will not drain stamina however it will still travel around 2/5ths of the distance of a full roll.

No, I remember his post and the point of it was that if people weren't so adversarial from the get-go, he would be more talkative. It seems like most people here are basically wanting the devs to be nice and chatty with them while they repeatedly insult the devs and slap them in the face, and you know what? That's some frakking weirdo behavior right there. Somewhere, somehow, there needs to be a few threads for friendly conversation. Since there's more of us than them, that's more up to us than them.
Mods/devs, you have my thumbs-up to delete any rude or demeaning post in any thread of mine you ever see (even if it's me slipping up on a bad day). The invitation has been extended.
I'm very concerned about this new issue and I'd just like some reassurance the team is aware of it/is working on it.
