Why I stopped spending real dollars...

1. Wipe last week.

2. I spend a lot, its a great game but knowing about an exploit that was already in your Star Trek MMO made me feel betrayed because I got behind the game financially in a big way and not fixing such a massive old bug smacks of slipshoddiness. I spent $150 last week alone on Zen but when I need customer service I'm told its in open beta. Guys game sites are reviewing your game as "launched" even though you insist on saying its in "open beta."

3. If you take my money, don't tell me its in open beta and have totally unresponsive customer service. I saw a Reddit post of a guy who spent more than me had his account banned by accident and he only got it fixed when a GM of your game saw his Reddit post.

4. My wife loves the game to PvP, but PVP is no longer fun for her because the constant AFK issue unresolved. It takes one of the developers only a few games to see its destroying PvP in that entire teams just AFK now. My wife one a game because she was the only active player to cap flags. You seriously think ill buy more Zen when all this could be fixed with an AFK flag, again easy fix but its not, slipshod again.

You want me and my money back? I am very upset at the fact I've spent a lot of money and you don't have customer support, no more money until then. I already went back to a similar game and paid $48 this Memorial Day weekend, which could have gone to you.

Most importantly, fix the known addressable problems like people going AFK in PvP or people needing rare/epic items in groups they can't use, this just destroys the goodwill one has towards the game. We accept bugs, exploits etc but don't act surprised when you sell a product and don't offer customer support and your core money spending players leave.

Don't lose the founders who were pumping money into the game. Most of the people I knew who had similar spending power are still upset. Yes I pay to win, but that makes it free for those who can't. Offering a token gift of 10 dye packs would add color to the game and get me back involved customizing armor, then ill be back in the game more.

To get me back paying, give something that would get me involved with the game like a dye pack and prioritize customer service for founders or others that pay above a certain threshold until you have customer service.

I posted this because I really like the game. I'm 100% supporting it but you can't expect me not to be upset when I've spent a lot of money to be told its in open beta when I need assistance so "we are overwhelmed with tickets" tells me not to invest further. Also the blatant bugs like PvP AFKs make me uneasy about spending more if the game is do obviously broken.

More than likely they are in the process of addressing all these issues. It's important to understand that they have to be careful on what they develop and implement. It does take time. I understand your frustration and I am sure they do miss the revenue they have lost to people such as yourself. It would be foolish for us to believe that a successful business is not doing everything it can to maximize revenue.

The question that is more relevant to me is whether or not they make the necessary changes in time to regain the revenue generating playerbase they have lost during this open beta. We will have to wait and see.

    What a bunch of nonsense.

Th wipe was an inconvenience. The point was its public knowledge that the AH exploit had been around since closed beta and an identical bug was also fixed in their Star Trek MMO. Why was it not fixed before they started selling currency for my real dollars. Why didn't this get fixed before it destroyed the economy that I had invested real $$$. Now I'm supposed to forget and spend more when there are obvious issues like the AFK flagging, and I don't even Why I stopped spending real dollars...

but it does show me the game should not be taking credit card transactions.

I just love the rant of children.

First off, this game is in Open Beta, it hasn't been officially launched. Regardless of what other sites may say, it has always been stated that this game has only been launched as Open Beta, by the company that is releasing it. Don't believe things you hear from third parties.

Second...and this applies to all online games. Only the company that creates or hosts the game will make money, players will always lose money. This is because everything you buy is considered virtual goods and players do not and can not own virtual goods. If a player is making real money on the game they are doing so illegally and can face not only fines but also prison time. So...only spend money you are willing to lose and never see again.

Third. Since this game is only in OPEN beta, there will be issues. Expecting there to be none is being immature. It's stupid to think a game in open beta isn't going to have issues.

People that want to spend money on a game still in the beta stages and cry when things don't go as expected are just...for lack of a better word....childish.

Didn't read it all but I always lulz when I read people crying about people afking in pvp and telling the devs to fix it. Yup lets just flag them if they don't move for more than 30 seconds. What do you think would happen every 15 seconds? Not good enough? Flag them if they don't move out of the spawn camp in 30 seconds. What do you think would happen then? Exactly! If you know anything about how people "afk" you would know it can't be fixed. Not that I care. My team makes people afk in PVP. You're only making it worse by being a try hard.

Another big spender with buyer's remorse? So sorry, too bad, stop dumping money on a game that's p2w. PWE is laughing all the way to the bank.

There was no wipe. There was a short rollback; that's happened to many MMOs years after launch, including WoW.

Since STO has never had a web interface to their auction house, this is at best a SERIOUS mischaracterization. If STO was written in Javascript you might have a point, but it isn't.

Not quoting #3 and #4 because I agree with them.
