The encounter has been redesigned so it is more fluid and transitional. The storyline has been improved and there are now multiple boss encounters. I am aware of the geometry bug in the one doorway but it came with the default prebuilt map so I cannot fix it. I have also moved the encounter to Protector's Enclave to encourage people to try it. If you have a quest that you'd like me to run, please list it here and I will run it over the next couple of days.
Short Code - NW-DEUNCAZP7 (Descent Into Madness Act I)
Location - Protector's Enclave in a disguised pile of trash
Estimated Completion Time - 20 to 30 minutes depending on class/group size
Suggested Group Size - 1-2 players
Dialogue tells a story - to make things go faster, choose the orange dialogue. If there is no orange option than both options will continue the quests.
sure i'll do it. can you play mine? info is in my sig
You should see a review from me already Vaelic. I enjoyed the encounter and I'm hoping you make a second part to it because that one guy just needs to die *grin*
First interaction to enter the house says "press F to Nl'zlan" or something, might want to fix that ~_^
The encounter with the mage in the first room to the left of the doorway is stuck inside the wall.
The conversation with the first priestess is a little confusing.
Great Dungeon design!

Initial location has been adjusted, it should now read Portal to N'Lzan. Conversation with first priestess has also been modified and a few NPC's have been relocated to avoid hiding in walls.

Zlain,
Your instance was amazing. It did have a couple of floor bugs (I fell through and died) but if you used a premade map that's probably why. Great storyline and fun final encounter.
Hey.
Just wanted to say that your quest name got me hooked up and I'll definietly give it a try. Although not today, and not tommorow. I've got some searious **** right now and I bookmarked this thread simply ^^
haha thanks Xhan. No premade rooms other then the 3rd room at the start. I just didn't add invisible walls to stop people from running off the sides of the path/into holes. My view is you're not exploring a cave if there is no risk of falling to your death ~_^ I should really add that into the quest somewhere...hehe

New zone updates, better quest tracking and new improved dialogue. The final boss fight should be more theatrical for people to give you that climatic end that has been requested.
Hey
Just played your quest, gave it 5/5 while hoping you would change some things ^^
First of all, transition must be made so that players are aware that this is Underdark. For example outdoor map transition. The idea with door in protetor's enclave is a bad one imo.
Second of all, difficulty was well paced: definietly I've seen harder dungeons marked as solo. Encounters were well made.
You could work a bit on visuals. Portal to matron can't be a simple brazier unless we ritually cut our wrists over fire inciting a huge flame that can take us there. Also perhaps something to make it look more like unerdark city, less like caverns.
I've managed to find a couple of mistypoes, but it's nothing major, grammatically I think it was ok.
Your quest is in my list, i will review it asap.
The info about my quest is in my signature, thanks.

Thank you all for the feedback. I have made some more changes and adjustments. I will review the latest couple of quests as soon as I log into game today.
The good: I like the look of the place and the story.
The Bad: I think in your quest description it says designed for two players. It is a cakewalk. Needs to be a lot tougher or that needs to be taken out of the description.
The Ugly: It also says in the description that you expect people to explore the zone. Players don't normally do that just because you want them to. If you want players to explore side areas, you need to give them a reason to do it. I went strait down the middle because there was no indicators other than your quest description to do anything other than that. Not trying to beat you up about it, just my offering a suggestion for improvement.

Hi just reviewed your quest.
Good quest. I like how everything is in one map. One comment, the bosses aren't really that tough. Would expect one or 2 solo mobs when it comes to boss fights.
I ran it as a 50 DC and I found it quite easy, so the advertised 2 players would find it a cakewalk. Maybe throw in a few solo mobs (hard encounters) as boss fights?
The last brazier wasn't properly labeled too. (Brazier-Ground 02)
Appreciate a review of my quests in return. (Link in sig)
Cheers

It was fun. Very interesting way to traverse the levels of the mine and kudos for the annoying yet fun trap with the rocks :-)

For those of you that have reviewed the quest and had suggestions, please re-run it and let me know what you think of the changes. The final encounter has been changed so it should bring a bit more of a challenge. Please note that I do not want to make it too difficult so that people cannot enjoy the storyline that I've created.
Thanks for your review on my quest, i'm glad that you liked it. Right now i was going to check out your quest but the login server is down. :S
Anyways, your quest is the first one that I am going to review when I login.

Please remember that in this quest, the dialogue options are designed to fail if you do not pick the Orange one. This is by design and it is not a bug. There is a story being told, this isn't a mash the 1 or 2 key type of quest :-)
I just reviewed you quest, I really liked it. I only saw a few mistakes:
- Two mobs had the wrong costumes (spider encounter with the costume of a drow), I don't remember exactly where. (There were 3 mobs which were part of an objective).
- When the quest is finished, you just have to press F to go back to neverwinter. Maybe you should put a portal to neverwinter instead.
- Some traps were misplaced, saw one on top of a spider egg.
Overall it was fun, 4 stars well deserved.

I honestly dont get this design. Or what you want to achieve with it. Do you want to prevent people form spamming their 1 key and just skipping the dialogue? Dont really think that's an issue, since they should be able to see the orange option and spam the fitting key without reading anything with it.
i.e. with the demonized spiders, I had the option to say something like "Well, let's hope She won't get angry due to me killing her sacred creatures". And it wasnt progressing the story, though I dont see anything wrong with the option.
Again I just dont understand the reason of why it's there. It's not offering anything to the story, since there are no response dialogues. Just a "if you click here it fails", but we can already see beforehand what's going to fail (not orange) so it's not preventing keyboard smashing.
Also in the last room (before you use the brazier), the Imps are (imho) bad costumes for those really big demons, since it's hard to see their attack animation (which I need to block). As a melee you're also forced to fight both groups at once (they are partially ranged and if I get close enough the other group automatically aggroes). Was harder than the actual bossfight.
Apart from that, I liked the story and the pacing between combat & dialogue was good as well.

I enjoyed the lava portion. Seemed very short but was enjoyable. The wave event for the final sequence was interesting.
