100 zen? Maybe you meant 1000.

No! The only way you should be able to change your race is by starting a new character.

That's funny, the D&D I'm familiar with is pretty well known for having powerful spells such as polymorph or reincarnate which allow a person to change their race and more. If there is ever a game where allowing players to change their race through some process would be 100% justifiable, it's a game based on D&D

Yeah, sure I don't see why not.
I'm happy with my class I choose, but it gives the players more re-customization if they wish to change their race.
As for those who don't like it, can simply not use it. Plain and simple.

From an RP standpoint, race change should be a pretty involved process, requiring a trial or other mission arc to accomplish. From a game manufacturer standpoint, it's yet another way to earn revenue with (probably) little work required. Both have their pros and cons, but in the end I think it will come down to time invested vs possible payoff for the devs.

i think people should have the option to change race at least for a limited time after a new race is brought in. since they will be adding a lot of races after the fact and races are mostly cosmetic, but i do think it should be more than 100z since a change your apprearace token is 200z it should be at least 300-500z but come with a free appearance change.

if stuff was account bound rather than character bound it would be different. people aren't gonna want to reroll and lost their nightmares and phaoras, heck i think people should be able to change classes as well if they are willing to pay through the nose for it. theyd have to restart at level 1 BUT they would keep all their bound items/pets.

or they can just make everything account bound and give us account banks. so we can reroll without fear of losing real money purchases.

As far as I'm concerned, any Zen purchase is asking to break the RP rules. A race change is no different from a mount or whatever that your character didn't go out and "earn". So I don't see why it shouldn't be allowed.

Perhaps I always imagined my character as a dark elf. But they weren't in the game yet.

I can, for four bucks, turn my short, overweight, elderly pale* human into a tall, athletic, young dark skinned* human. This clearly requires powerful magic; even as a role-player, I don't see how a race change is any more outlandish.

*Not just skin color, either, but all facial features can be rearranged to resemble people from most real ethnicity options.

Breaking "rp" rules is a matter of how you play it. for example if it would make sence for your character to ride a bear there is no way to earn a bear ic but nothing is stoping you from buying said bear and then rping an epic hunt to capture a bear train it for riding ect...

changing race is no exception if there is no way to be a certain race lets say drow you can make your char as a brown skinned wood elf with white hair and then when drow becomes public change the race. its not breaking the rules its just making your character what it was ment to be in the first place. a good rper might even have an elaborate plot on how her skin was lightened and hair was darkened to infiltrate a wood elf tribe. then when drow goes public she is revieled to be a drow and the enchantment drops.

yeah sure there will be people who will say...what ive always looked this way. and not really have a good rp reason but that is their choice. Rp is not about HOW you buy something it is how you explain it and if all else fails...

...because Magic that's why.... nuff said ...
