The general feeling is it not a dupe bug, but more likely was a bugged chest. Most likely auto looted 24/7 by bots. If it was a real dupe bug the items duped would of been more valuable.

its a exploit anyways, and broken the economy one more time
People are making a bigger deal out of it then what it is. Following the logic that it was not a dupe. The only way to really exploit this would be to bot it, possibly mass bot it, on the same stupid chest, for days on end. And the best they got out of all that effort was stacks of level 4 enhancements. This is hardly on the level of the money dupe. As far as exploits go this one is pretty lame.
actualy a video of the dupe bug was hosted on you tube with explanation of how to do it... fortunately the videa has already been taken down...
a small hint.. it has to do with item stack... and that is why they didn't use it to dupe higly priced equipment but only enhancement (that are the most valuable/easy to sell stackable item in the game... rare craft materials and shard are more valuable but due to being much more pricy and less requested are harder to sell in a short time... ^^' )
So it sounds like all this did was make enhancements cheaper and easier for everyone to afford. That is a good bug that helps to lessen the pain of the inflation caused by AD duping during the last AH bug.
How they (the players) managed to break the AH now? Was it another gateway exploit or what?
I needs to know
Apparently there was a dup exploit that could be done with stacked items. That is why the AH is currently down and apparently they are sending out the 3 day bans to anyone selling items of the type that where duped while they research and implement permanent bans etc to those who used the exploit.

except that it generated additional AD inflation... since not only the initial player made some good AD out of it (as much as people say that it was stupid to use enchantment he still sold lots of stack of them in a few minutes... getting some million for himself... and it seem that he did the same thing on multiple server ^^' ) but he also uploaded a video with info on how to replicate the bug... that will lead to a massive reduction of the prive of many stackable item... that is where lot of honest player get their AD from (most of the palyer that play AH usually use medium/low cost item that can sell easy rather than high price item that may sit in the AH for a long time...)
but... at the end of the day... there is no more big dmg that can be done to the economy of this game... as much as no more dmg can be done to the reputation of Cryptic or PW...

There's no where to go but up when you're already 6 feet under.

Selling items doesn't create AD. The only way to create AD from an item dupe bug is if you can dupe keys and open lockboxes to turn in jeweled idols. Every other item dupe bug is deflationary because every sell transaction in the AH takes AD out of the economy. What it does do is shift AD from one player to another, which is not the same thing at all, there is no AD inflation with duping items that aren't keys.

So where did this extra AD your claiming come from? The dup error doesn't create AD.
No AD was manufactured there so where did this magic AD come from?
If it keeps the AH down, all the Auctions I(and those that bid just after I did) win on end game stuff whose auctions just started will do more damage than this dupe bug does. As neat as getting nearly free stuff is, I don't really want it at the expense of other players just because they can't keep the AH up.
Incidentally, high volume and low prices doesn't create inflation. It does just the opposite(every AD becomes worth more in terms of goods gained from it). In fact, in a game like this with a relatively set level of incoming AD into the servers(max 24k per day, per player on the server, plus any foundry funds) deflation of this nature actually hurts the economy more than inflation would---accumulation of wealth becomes less necessary to get the things you need.
from selling the freaking items on the ah...is it that hard to read?
That AD comes from other players. AS a matter of fact the sell itself reduces the number of AD manufactured. So AD is being manufactured by selling something on the AH. At least not this time.
