Companion AI sucks

Dear developers, this is one of the most frustrating things in this game! I'm as a tank GF very disappointed by the way my heal companion behaves. Why the hell in the big room, she is thinking that she is some kind of tank and coming as closer as it's possible to the boss and other mobs???? There is pretty much place in here to stay away and do your healer job! Of course I'm all the time without any heal and fighting alone. Please make some fixes in AI, it sucks.

the tank one has pretty good ai, yes i catch it at times standing around, along with the mage / healer pets. yeah its annoying when she goes rambo and runs point blank up to the boss XD

It seems that sometimes the player is an obstacle in the LoS of the companion, since the Cleric companion also does ranged dmg on enemies. I'm not 100% sure, but I assume she doesn't run into melee range when I turn the Mob 180 degrees that she's in its back.

The tank pet loves standing right by my side, so I get hit by every cleave attack the mobs may use. Not a big deal since he gets 2 shotted anyway.
    Happy times.

It is the Cleric who seems to be the most suicidal. She actually likes running into melee range of enemies rather than just staying back and spamming attacks while healing.

The companion window actually made me remember Dragon Age. I believe there was an option to set the behavior of each member of one’s party choosing a certain preset like “ranged”, “aggressive”, “passive”, “defensive” and so on.
Something like this could in fact be a useful asset to the interface and might prevent the cleric companion from being overly suicidal.

Wish my flying dagger of cowardice would be like her.
Instead mr.stabby just sits back there, wispering "I'll let you handle this one, and that one, and definitely that big one".

Yea my cleric companion often runs across the room because she sees a "pretty red circle" and decides to stop there and look at me like, "hey you comin' or what?"
