Apart from the mild bonuses from using an Eldritch Runestone, what do her stats do? She has base stats so they must do something...

Any Life Steel you equip on her gives the buff she places on you 1 for 1 bonus.
Example:
Im not able to play the game right now but lets say the default buff gives you 1000 Life Steel
Gear: 0 Lifesteal | Bonus to Lifesteel Buff: 0 ( Buff provides 1000 Life Steel)
Gear: 100 Lifesteel | Bonus to Lifesteel Buff: 100 (Buff provides a 1100 Life Steel)
Beyond that from what ive seen the stats (except def ones) are usless.

Exactly my question. Why put them there unless they at least do something. Honestly, both offensive slots just seem like 2 serious bugs to me, since her shield buff says its a flat 10%, then adding power wont give you 10% + ? so its useless, as well as crit and pen since its impossible for her to use those. Since her other skill is a straight up leach of available life skill buff, then no enchantment should affect it. All that's left is recovery, but I added a bunch of recovery into her, and the cooldown timers didn't change at all. SO, that leaves 2 choices:
#1) Either the original programmers knew what they were doing, and designed her so that power and recovery both actually help her...yet the labeling(added later) is just completely wrong, mis-labeled, or just undocumented.
or
#2) She was designed from the ground up with 2 resounding bugs, 1 each X 2 utterly useless offense slots, and she is a complete waste of coin and active companion slot space.
If its #2, then this whole companion model is #2
If its #1, then some stopwatch testing and close review of the logs might be the only way we will know if recovery and power stats actually help her at all. So for example, maybe the 4/7 sec cooldowns don't change, but the frequency that she casts the buffs increases with a higher recovery stat. And maybe the text doesn't state it, but the power stat might actually increase the total percent of her base buffs oututs. So for example maybe with higher power stats, she actually shields you 10% + X%(based on total power stat). Similarly, maybe the total life steal buff = (a buff based on total equipped life steal) + ( a % based bonus multiplier resulting from the total power stat X the total equipped life steal). At least that would make sense.
That said.....She only has a 2 sec buff and a 4 sec buff, with a 4 sec cooldown and a 7 sec cooldown, respectively....and that's only when shes in range, or not dead, and decides to throw a buff your way. The chances of a 2 sec 10% shield buff being active at exactly the moment you get smashed by a bosses big a$$ weapon are very slim, at best. Likewise with the 4 sec life steal leach buff, its only effective if you are actually hitting the mob with a skill at the exact moment its active...and with a 7 sec cooldown and her randomly buffing you, its not active often enough. With the additional amount of life steal added, you will probably on average get less than +100 extra HP during any given fight(depending on her total life steal stats). So now we are back to nonsense, and in practicality, a useless paid-for-with-real-money companion.
Speaking of nonsense. Why on earth don't they only list the stats that a particular companion can actually utilize? At least that way we know which stats we need to dump on any companion. I realize it might be too difficult to remove the unneeded stats at this point in the game, but at least you could highlight the "functional" stats in a different color.
CONCLUSION: Maybe her buffs stats actually do improve somehow with her build, but regardless, if her buff durations aren't made longer, then it really doesn't make much difference. If her buffs were improvable to at least 10 seconds, they would become marginally useful...and if they lasted 20 seconds, the benefit might actually become measurable, just like all the other companions. Additionally, maybe the unused stats of crit and pen could be utilized in another way. The crit could boost the shield buff duration, and the pen could increase the life steal buff duration. Wait, did I just make sense?
Can't you just put recovery runes in the offensive slots to make her skills pop up quicker?
That's the problem, nobody knows. There's no official guide on it, the devs are being tight lipped about it, and it seems nobody has figured it out. There might be some top level players that know, but they don't like to share. Meanwhile we are left to guess and waste our money on the wrong things until we get a definitive answer.
I'm just gonna level mine up and bank her until someone either fixes her or releases the info we need. Who knows, she might actually be worth some AH AD at some point in time.
