Chat bans

This system needs to be looked at ASAP.

I mean come on, i've been banned twice now in the last 3 days for 24 hours. This means 24 hours no general chat, no pm's and no party chat.

I understand people don't like the general chat being flooded by sellers but since there is no trade channel and there isnt another way to trade Goods X for Goods X besides the chat its becoming very painfull for players who enjoy the trades in a game.

What i do wrong when i sent once in 5 minutes a message out of variating goods?

Do people realize when they mute a player they also report him?

I did start off really sympathetic at how lame this system is, but having tried to use zone chat and been totally drowned out by all the trade spammers trying to cheap out on AH fees, I am starting to be glad that this system exists.

Well there isnt a trade channel and everybody comes to a point they want to trade for keys or gold instead of Astral Diamonds which you can only get with the Auction House. Why not join a Party and use the party chat?

I agree. If I cannot read any chat messages any longer, because some morons try to buy/sell something, I will ignore/spam flag them. If you want a trade channel, Ask PWE for a trade channel. Don't flood the zone chat.

This game needs a trade channel. Without a doubt. I will help you, to get one. If you ask for one, I'm on your side. But as it is, in the moment, I use the mechanic of the game, to get rid of the trade messages.

I will do this until I do not see any trade or buy requests in the zone chat.

You can be muted by people just using the ignore feature, too.

Oh, and it mutes you in ALL THREE GAMES that share Cryptic's game engine. Champions Online, Star Trek Online, and Neverwinter.

Also, according to developers in a recent Q&A over on CO....it's working as intended and because it's so deep in all three games, it'd take a whole revamp of the entire system, which is something they just won't do.

Occam's Razor makes the cutting clean.

Use a player created channel to trade, beg cryptic to make one or suffer the consequences for spamming zone chat with trades

I mean you got banned twice in 3 days? Shouldn't you have learned your lesson by now?

I've complained about the chat server and think it should be fixed, but in all I've only been chat banned 4 times in 3 years of using the Cryptic chat server. If you've been chat banned twice in such a such a short space of time adjust your thinking.

Repeatedly flagging as spam non-spam posts without proper reasons has got people in serious trouble on other Cryptic games, on the rare occasions when they bothered to check up on it. Ignoring is fine, marking as spam for the lolz can get you the same treatment (or FAR worse) than what you are trying to met out....
