Does Steel Defense Have A Cooldown?

Maybe I have the wrong name, but I'm talking about the class feature that makes you immune to damage for 5 seconds when using a daily.

Does this have a cooldown? Because you know, you can cancel Spinning Strike daily and save like 80-90% of the AP and could basically just chain the dmg immunity back to back couldn't you?

Or does this not work? lol

Not sure but i'm gonna assume your dps is gonna drop if you do that and I think it's 3 seconds which is why I never picked it up not worth it.

It's 5 seconds when ranked. And the only DPS you're losing is Slam dps. But if it worked then you'd get ridiculous uptime on a 5 second dmg immunity buff lol.

Yes, this works exactly as the OP is hoping it does. I've played around with this quite a bit a couple weeks back. Round about the time I discovered Savage Interrupt.

It however does not work well. I, a master of Animation Cancellation, am lucky to cancel spinning strike before at least a 1/4th (maybe a 1/5th if I'm lucky) of my AP is drained. It's pretty difficult to get it to work the way you want it to and even then you have to be an AP generating mad man in order to keep Steel Defense up at all times.

It works well as an "oh-****" button but the question is are you willing to sacrifice a daily slot as well as a passive slot for an "oh-****" button that doesn't really work all that well? Admittedly this works out decent for some boss fights. That's about it.

It's not the "trick" you were hoping it was that's for sure.

Well at the very least it gives that Daily some sort of use lol.
