The Cryptic launcher just did a small update, and then deleted itself.
It's not just me, either. I told my brother over steam, and his did exactly the same. Someone at cryptic dun gone goofed

I just had this happen to me too, but it didn't do an update, Windows said it didn't exist and deleted itself. Arc, their game manager, even says Neverwinter isn't installed on my PC, though I can launch the game via the game client file.
same problem here launcher deleted it self after posting a malware warning on avast and when I conect through the .EXE it get stuck at connecting to account server

Might be related to this thread. Apparently Avast is having one of its moments again. You might try checking the virus chest of your anti-virus software and following the instructions in that thread to exclude Neverwinter. Seems to be working for many people (including myself).
It is might be a problem with it giving your anti-virus or firewall a false positive try excluding it

This just happened to me, and I had played and exited NW only an hour before. I can't even find the launcher exe or shortcut (it's not in the recycle bin or the program folder), and when I go directly to the game exe, it won't let me login. I'm using Windows 8.
Update: I just checked avast and found Neverwinter.exe in the virus chest labeled "FileRepMalware"

Edit:
Virustotal, which uses a ton of scanners, seems nothing wrong:

I wonder if it's behaviour blocking?
Update: I just checked avast and found Neverwinter.exe in the virus chest labeled "FileRepMalware"
a chore to play it
