sometimes, I don't want to do anything besides set up some professions, and do a skirm or dungeon run. instead of being forced to stare out into space for 20-50 minutes ingame, it would be nice to be able to alt+tab out and do other things while waiting, such as checking forums, getting some work done, chatting with friends, etc
right now, it's extremely frustrating to wait for over half an hour, then alt tab away for a minute to come back and find you missed the queue ready notication, and have been removed from queue, and have to wait another 20-50 minutes

I would have to agree with this. It does get a bit annoying after a bit.
I always try to stay in game when I am qued for anything. But at times I check on my professions and the like and end up missing it. Would also be nice if the pop up would stay on the screen for a bit longer then it currently does. Giving you a better time to respond.

mmorpg player stereotypes aside for a second, there do happen those amongst us who's lives aren't yet so deprived of meaning and purpose that we'd be willing to give up functionality of an entire pc system and put its cpus at full load for it to stare out into space for 20-50 minutes just so we can do a 15 minute skirmish
...and those of you who are probably aren't the ones paying cryptic's bills anyways
or play in windowed full screen mode, with a browser perfectly fit to only show the queue pop up.
works just fine for me.
yeah, it's what I do currently. it's neither as convenient nor as efficient as simply having the notification show through in some way though. something that takes as long as this game's queue times really need to be made much harder to miss

I've missed so many queues because I wanted to listen to the quest's lore instead of just accepting it.

sounds totally like the quality of a product people are willing to drop money on
3. Ask for a change, because it benefits the game.
Shocking, I know.
