I did this **** from day 1 on my char cuz noone hardly ever uses the upper paths; usually by the time I get to Cap 1 I hide near the rocks so they don't see me then go up and steal the cap from them while they're all busy fighting over cap 2. Simple strategic common sense that's sadly rarer than it should be lol

Yea i'm surprised not a lot of GFs do this. With a GF I can hold a point for 2-3 minutes. more if there's a healer.
You don't need to do this as a Defence specced Guardian (It really is better if you stay in the middle and tie them up there while a Rogue goes for Cap 3) You can do it better with a Conqueror spec designed to push targets out though. (Bull's rush, Frontline Surge) and then you have the added bonus of being able to kill targets too. trample the fallen/lunging strike.
I wish tanking specs worked in PVP as that was my first character...they really don't. You crit/burst/ccc to win in PVP. I learned this the very hard way. Now, I can carry teams with an Envy spec and be lazy about it, with crappy gear.
