So I'm pretty new to Neverwinter & like the tank classes. I've started with a GWF but after reading some of the posts here I'm not to sure if I should carry on. When it comes to groups which class is more beneficial as a tank? Thanks in advance?
Right now the GF is superior to the GWF under almost any aspect. The GF can better hold aggroes because it is the former tank but with conqueror feat line he can get +100% power thus ending to be even better DPS for both single target and often AOE as well. You just need to gear out properly and make a good build, DPS oriented. Right now pure tanks are not that useful and rogues usually tanks bosses to the best thing you can do is spec for DPS: this way you end up with very solid character and with absolutely nice DPS.

Honestly, if you're looking at it from a group perspective i'd say neither given the situation right now
The sad truth is that they're not needed nor wanted in most groups because they dont bring enough to the table. Obviously all that could change down the line if they fix a number of issues. If you're in it for the long haul then GF will likely be more sought after once tanking becomes nescessary

stay away from fighters
You're kidding right? Oh wait thats right, buggy armor ftw.
Roll with the GWF, they really start to shine post Lvl30
This is not a tank build.
Stalwart is not bugged. GFs would prob still outdps GWFs with timeless. GWFs are just horrible atm.
Again, not a tank.
that !!!!!
