Time to focuse on PvP maybe

I know there are tons of issues way more urgently needed to be fixed, but I have to admit I like PvP, I didn't think I would enjoy PvP in such a game, but I do.

Moreover there are a lot of players appreciating PvP since it's way easier to get into a PvP game whereas it needs 10 players of roughly the same lvl and probably ping than into a skirmish game, and yet it needs half the amount of players, it gives more loot and it's rather the same amount of time spent, especially when you come in the higher ranks.

I can't believe all those people are just playing PvP for PvP loot to buy with glory, and dailys are as good to earn in skirmishes.

Hence my point of having a sharpenned eye on PvP : try to begin to balance it, implement more maps, give information about futures game modes, etc.

I feel like this game could try to be the successor of GW, with more PvP arenas focusing/various builds/more game modes and especially balancing, since its action based fast paced gameplay suits fine with the kind.

My 2 cents whishes.

Yes to this. Fixing the teleport to battle ground bug. Fix kicking. More maps. More modes. More players (10 vs 10, 20 vs 20, etc). More pvp gear.

    First and last bump

Looks like this forum population does totally not represent the game population, according to queue time for PvP, skirmishes and dungeons ^^''

Looks like it does due to the fact you had to bump your own thread :D

Well, I mean heroic fantasy PvP, was interested in C9 which is way more PvP oriented for sure, but servers are terrible and lag is everywhere XD ... not to mention this is the first time I've seen my bank having been robbed (all my golds disappeared from a day to another) in a mmo... without even having been hacked XD

I'll give it a try, but since DD is proposing PvP, and according to the FAQ it's like devs actually like it, I think they could be at least more clear about their goals for the future of the PvP in this game.

I agree mushashi, don't mind the trolls in your thread.

The game has awesome pvp already, just needs to iron out the afker issue and queueing bugs. Then add some more maps and game types.

Did you know that the devs have said that they want to allow players to create pvp maps in the foundry at some point? I'm sure its still a long way off, but there is definately a lot of pvp potential here.

Edit: Rift's pvp is fun up till level cap and then its a terrible gear grind; also pretty much a wow clone.

It's like playing GW2 with boxing gloves on your hands and only 3 character skills available.
I don't see where the potential is.

This is a PvE game first and foremost. They haven't fixed the PvE part yet, so future updates will focus on that.

The AFK issue has got to be on top of the list for PvP. Second on the list, and I am not sure how to solve this, is having one team just give up the minute someone goes up by a 100 pts or so.

I'm sure with the upcoming ranger it will brings some more people into pvp, ranger will definitely have potential to be rogue/wiz killers, thus balance team composition a little maybe.

Anw I'm curious to know what they're planning to do about it.

I wish games would concentrate on one or the other, instead of this constant back-and-forth development/balancing/tweaking that just ends up HAMSTER the game up for different parts of the playerbase in turn.

(can't even remember all the times that laughable attempts to "balance" pvp kept HAMSTER up the PvE in WoW.)

PvP in Rift started out okay and slowly became more of a joke as time went on, negating any skill or time you'd sunk into gearing/specing for PvP. Pretty much like everything else in Rift really.

There is so much wrong in this statement.

ranged rogue one button pvp aoe killing spree. there's a video were a guy had one macro (put in each action slot), all it said was "i win" and it was the same spell in each macro. he spammed it every match and came out with top kills and dps each match. hilarious.
