Put simply, it's the easiest way to compensate people who lost their coin counter: by giving everyone the two items people would ever bother with celestial coins anyway: Blessed Profession Resource Pack and Coffer of Wondrous Argumentation.
Note: Not a suggestion for the thank-you pack to only include these things, but as part of the whole pack: these things are only to compensate for losing the coin bonus, and not the 7 hour rollback.
this and free bags and character slots. bank upgrades. also free nightmare keys would be great.

I'm not happy at losing coins over this but I don't think having everyone get free stuff is the way to fix the issue here.
I'd much rather see them just perma-ban everyone who exploited, and move on. Maybe publish each ban in the admin channel like they do the silly horses.
Our job as a community is to rally against people stealing and exploiting. Yes, the devs made mistakes, and they will again, but that's just part of software development. Try writing a Foundry mission without making any errors. Go on, review it, review it- then publish it, I promise I'll find issues you overlooked.
Free stuff won't fix what broke here. People learning some manners and ethics will.

I think a great thank you present would be for Cryptic to focus on fixing the bug and allow us to be able to continue playing Open Beta for free and forget the digital gift box...

Outside of doing this, I don't see any other way to compensate for their loss.
