Why a wipe will fix *nothing*.

Firstly, determining which Zen is legitimately purchased and which Zen was bought with exploited AD is a huge task and one that Cryptic simply aren't capable of. Wiping the servers will still leave all that Zen out there. The exploiting accounts may be being banned etc, but the accounts that had AD transferred to them (i.e. the laundering accounts) aren't being touched.

Secondly, a wipe would achieve nothing if the exploits aren't fixed. ALL of the exploits that have been used to cause irreparable damage to the NWO economy over the last few weeks were reported in closed beta. All of those reports had no effect and they made it through to open beta. Cryptic simply don't have the skills and manpower to prevent exploits. How long did they allow this negative bids exploit to continue before finally shutting things down? Wiping the servers will just start the whole process over again.

The really sad thing is that many of these exploits happened in STO too. They've been plaguing Cryptic for years and they've failed so badly at stopping them that they've persisted into their next game. This is not a company that will ever make an MMO that's reliable and unexploited. If you're happy with that then carry on playing. If you're not happy with that then go and play something else, there's no shortage of competition out there.

A wipe will solve nothing unfortunately.

Enormous numbers of people have used the AD/Zen exchange to legitimately buy Zen with legitimately earned AD over the last few weeks.

Are you saying that should be wiped too? Because that's the level of reset that will drive a vast number of people away from this game for good.

There aren't any good or easy solutions at this point. Wiping just characters and progress doesn't fix anything - the Zen remains. Wiping everything except Zen purchased with actual real money costs NWO a large portion of it's player base. Not wiping leaves the game damaged for months and with (possibly) a permanently distorted economy.

Any of those choices is a nail in this games coffin.

I would have hoped you stopped and did like even 5 minutes of research on the subject after wondering why two people just called you stupid. But here it goes anyway: PW has a separate database for all purchases made from them in USD/Other currencies. This is completely separate from the in game exchange and cash shop via AD options.

Not only is it incredibly easy to check every time stamped real world money cash shop purchase all customers are e-mailed their own receipts of the purchases as proof. The absolute easiest part of a wipe is refunded legit zen.

And nothing that has been done using the AH in the last week has been even remotely legit. The prices started tanking almost two weeks ago when it was flooded with exploited T2 pieces. So yes all of that can and should be wiped.
