Why not just get a new server?

Like the title says, why don't they just put a new server online for those of us who feel we are really effected by the exploits. That way those who don't care get to keep playing on their current characters and at the same time those of us who do get to start fresh.

Now that being said I think for something like this to work they would need to offer some sort of starter package, perhaps some AD for non-founders and founders benefits for people who are founders or something similar. That way the economy would start simulated like it did on all the other servers.

Anyway thoughts on this would be appreciated. Please don't troll/flame/etc/etc

I like where you are coming from, but there's a few reasons why this wouldn't be feasible.

Firstly, it costs money to maintain and run servers. It wouldn't be in the company's best interest to add additional servers when the population doesn't warrant it when they can fix the existing servers.

As for the second point, if there is a new server, there really isn't a need to "catch up" that server to where the previous servers were. They are completely separate ecosystems. It would simply start and evolve over time like the current servers.

They are going to be merging all the servers, they never intended for there to be more then one server, your point is moot and not thought out at all.

We do not need more polls so please stop jumping on the bandwagon with your "idea" which has already been 100 other peoples idea before you.

Merge the current three (or just two of them) and open up a new server.

I think this is the best route. The current exploits have all existed since launch. There are exploits that were used vastly that have been fixed recently. A wipe or new server is the only real solution. New server being the best of both worlds. Those that are bothered can start a new. Those that don't care can continue not caring.

If they opened up a new server and never merged it into the others, they would still need to insulate its Astral Diamond-to-Zen Exchange so that the polluted infinite Astral Diamonds from the current servers aren't used to buy infinite Zen, thus infecting the new server via its Exchange.

What really needs to happen is that all current servers are completely wiped. It's ugly. It's bold. It's necessary.

No amount of going after individual accounts will solve the devastation dealt to the game. A wipe is harsh but it needs to be done.
