Cryptic Launcher Autoupdate problem

I keep getting that little tiny window that says "Trying to update the launcher. Please be patient. Tried connecting XX times". I've been getting this message all day and am unable to connect. Any ideas?

    They ninja-released a 2 gig patch with no announcement and no patch notes. The patch server is functioning like a passed-out drunk airline pilot in a wild winter storm.

    LOL. Of course a passed out drunk pilot would likely be on autopilot and nobody would know :). So keep on trying?

    Ugh, moved from general where it might be answered into the graveyard of bugs that cryptic doesn't care about. /sigh
