I have been struggling with how to make messages for "flavor" that pop up on the UI for players as they traverse the dungeon. I have seen foundries that have these messages made by DM's, that as a player is walking along, a message pops up on the UI that also accompanies the chat box.
For example in a crypt, a player is doing their objectives and as they make their way descending deeper into the crypt, a message pops up on the UI that the DM created saying: "The air gets slightly colder". And as they get further into the crypt another message is triggered saying "The air is getting chillier and more dank by the minute". These aren't chat bubbles or npc's talking, and they are not part of objectives. They pop up in the location and manner as the quest completion messages pop up in the center of the UI.
How are these DM's making these pop up messages? I have scoured the editor and all the options I can think of that would allow me to do this, but I can't figure it out. Is there anyone that can please guide or advise me on how to do this?
Thanks in Advance!

They are using objectives. And the objectives in the storyline are completed when a point is reached. So it seems seamless to the player.
As Zovya said, use the objective option on the story board and link it to a "marker" in the "Special" selection on the "map" tab. Then place it where you want and r-click it to modify it with the quest objective name at the top and the message you want displayed at the bottom.
