So, wait. Dye Packs are...

...a preset selection of trim/primary/secondary color with no options, rather than (as I thought) a package with 3 dye bottles you can assign like you want?

Or is this only the Celestial pack from Ardent coins?

(Also, glad I discovered this with the Celestial pack, and not something I blew Zen on.....)

Correct. Dye packs apply preset colours to the three categories. You can use a pack, and then individual colours like blue, green, purple etc to fine tune your look.

I haven't tried the ones from the Celestial pack, but the individual bottles from the Zen store let you choose which of the three "colorable" parts of a piece of gear you wish to change. One bottle then changes only this one part. You can use three different dyes on one piece of armor. So I think it may just be the Celestial pack that works differently.

The choice of where to apply a colour is only from the single colour sets. The dye 'packs' like Neverwinter, Winterwolf, and Celestial are all preset. There is no choice. You apply it to a piece of armor, and that is it.

Ahh, good info, I didn't know that! So this applies to the Zen store sets, too. I had only bought individual black dye bottles (or the pack of three).

Well, certainly never going to buy those then. Ah, well.

    Thanks for the confirmation.

How so? You have the choice to either get packs with pre-set colors (ensures your armor looks at least decent) or to get the individual dye bottles and design your own color layout. (May look better or worse, but will be individually chosen by you.)

Yeah, the point of dyes are to customize. Saying it's a set of dyes, but they fixing which dyes you can use where eliminates the "custom" part....

I dunno. I found a color scheme that works nicely...makes my Guardian Fighter look like a Royal Guard of sorts.

Just need to get the Glory-purchased Gauntlet and Boots.....Total BA here! :D

Oh, I should remind you all that Dyes will probably not transfer if you change the appearance of the armor (at least I think you can change it...looked like you could but didn't want to spend the diamonds to confirm). Meaning if you dye the Secondary, say, pink and then change the appearance the Secondary of the new appearance will be the default color and not Pink.

I wanted to do a Kelemvorite look, something a bit battle worn and dingy and had been looking at the dye packs. I didn't know that I couldn't decide which colour went where. Good thing I saw this post.
