So i have decided to make few trades.Posted 2 offers and watching a movie , so i re-posting in like 5-6 mins.Suddenly after a trade i completed i post my offer again but got silenced and marked as spammer for 24 hours!?Is this serious omg? Most of the ppl around are spaming like crazy and they have decided to silence me?!And now i cannot even whisper ffs..Dont think thats fair lol!
Welcome to the cryptic chat system. It's easily griefed by other players and isn't policed by cryptic staff.
This game sounded a lot better before I came to the forums. Glad I didn't pay anything yet..

They silence even may normal chat(say) , it will be great if i was a spammer or gold seller omg .. but this thing to happen to people that are doing everything normally is just insane! So now i cannot chat with anyone , seems to have 24 hours break lol
From what I've seen don't hit zone with trades and don't trash talk and it doesn't really become a problem. I think the majority of the problem would go away for people if there was a trade chat that wasn't shared between games. Maybe if everyone did /create NWTrade

Trading chats and trying to make profits by selling/reselling is a part of good game economy! That's needed and its smth really normally! There are many players who spam those trade channels but there are lots of them who dont also , they just make 1-2 offers and repeat them in like 5-10 mins!If they need to silence them do it!But why they make it with the ordinary traders!Dunno what mechanics they have about it but as it seems its not working well!

They use this chat system in all their games. I remember groups of people would go around in Star trek online reporting random people in chat to get them chat banned for no reason. Just people being ****ty. Eventually it stops happening.
Thankfully I don't have to deal with it anymore. I play these cryptic games with a set group of people and we chat over skype. Never use the game chat anymore. Still it's a bummer how it works. Game still seems really good though. I wouldn't let something like this deter you from the game.

It doesn't work well. Never has because there is no review process when you are banned. It would be nice if there was a trade channel by default so people who didn't want to see it could just turn it off instead of being jerks and reporting people.

But they can't make a trade channel, how would they get their AH cut?

Not enough to hurt them as the 1K queue in STO and another packed Sunday in Millennium can attest, what it does do is keep most people off zone chat, and forces them to use the group finder for groups and AH for selling. A lot of folks use private channels now as well and I don't think the mute policy applies.
Open a ticket and report the time and date when it happened. if you think you were unfairly reported for spam, then let a GM take care of it! If it's like WoW, Cryptic will apologize that it happened *and* suspend the people who wrongfully Reported you for spam!!!
The Report Spam tool is not a toy! Since this is a F2P game, anyone could create 5 accounts, play all characters up to PE's Chat and start Reporting Spam everyone and get them silenced for 24 hours! This is why you gotta open GM tickets if you think you were wrongfully silenced! Cryptic needs to punish those who do it and maybe even ban their IP address so they can't just create another account and do it all over again!
There are people out there who are purposefully serial ignoring people in order to mute them. These people have also been known to create groups for this exact purpose.

It takes the GMs 48 hours - 4 weeks to respond to a ticket. You are muted for 24 hours. That will not make a difference.

Do people ever manage to seel stuff, or form groups on that scrolling text thing?
I find it almost impossible to read anything on it, let alone try a conversation.

Indeed I mentioned this in another thread but there are entire griefer guilds that get laughs from getting AFK people muted using this feature. That's how much of a joke this game is. I had really high hopes for this game too.
Got silenced for 24 hours while looking for dungeon delves. Seems like you should get a warning or something first. Also the ban should be relegated to public chat channels, it's sort of ridiculous that I can't even type in guild, party, or whispers for the entire duration.
You really need to fix your chat system altogether, especially with the AH being down, zone chat has turned into a clown show of trading and spamming even more than it was before.

Not going to link them , but you can find forums where people are snickering over making a 5-10 accounts , having multiple sessions open on various machines , and managing to pick out whoever they want in chat to report and , boom , they just shut said poor soul down for 24 hours from talking.
Take a few players goofing off doing this with throwaway F2P accounts and they can effectively silence anyone they want.

actually, it would make a difference maybe not to your specific case but to others. I would think if there were people who were being muted for no legitimate reason by the same people they would take action against said people.

No they actually silence your guild chat, party chat, whispers to friends, EVERYTHING for 24 hours. It's ridiculous.

Working as intended. Spamming because you're angry is still spamming. Next time don't spam.
